Yeah I just posted about this in the other thread with a poster who is claiming that players will not have an impact on the cities they travel to.
Everyone is going to have to live the Sam Darnold lifestyle of apartment - practice- apartment. Unfortunately since the league is full of young millionaires I have my doubts that will happen.
Exactly the unfortunate part. They're a part of the population of people that are driving the spread of this virus. And they have a lot more funds at their disposal to have said fun. That's exactly why 10-11 guys on one of 30 teams ruined it for everyone in baseball and it was reportedly really narrowed down to maybe one or two guys.
I am also curious about this, as far as I know they did have the NFL Draft. Whats the future of the NFL, are playing seasons and playoffs like usual, or is there some changes that will go into effect? Sent from my SM-J327V using Tapatalk
https://www.nfl.com/news/eagles-rt-lane-johnson-announces-he-tested-positive-for-covid-19 I guess steroids don't protect against coronavirus. Maybe he'll get the OK to use them to heal it and avoid the suspension this time.
You say one breadth they will get from outside of football them say opt is safer? The risk of the virus to the athletes themselves is statistically small is not worth talking about. The majority of people dying are the elderly and those with underlying conditions. The danger is passing along the virus to the most vulnerable ( that is not children) There is more danger to the players health from actually playing football.
Not really ....when you have less players you can have a bubble....just like the NHL or UFC...has nothing to do with a better plan it's numbers...and they aren't the only league or the first to do it.
So you adjust for the number of players, maybe have a few bubble areas based on location. Be creative.
Impossible to do in football with the amount of players and lack of facilities...I think you could probably do that in baseball tho....they all have spring training sites in FLA and AZ and a bubble in each state would eliminate travel.
https://985thesportshub.com/2020/07/29/what-would-an-nfl-bubble-look-like/ Check this out, scheduling might change, but I think it's doable. There is plenty of space. I find this proposal kind of interesting, not to say its fool proof.
Yeah I guess you are right there is probably better options then doing absolutely nothing. Lol. I do think MLB looks like the biggest losers tho considering they all have spring training facilities in 2 states.....the question then becomes do players agree to be quarantined for a full season rather then a few months....I'm guessing not.
The biggest problem with the bubble for the NFL is are these guys really going to be isolated for 6 months? 16 weeks + playoffs? That's a long ass time.
I don't see it happening. So far, though very early, the NBA has been the league to do it right. It's going to be damn near difficult to keep all NFL players and staff in check during and after games.
Let's just say the NFL does try to do a bubble, they should do it in Las Vegas as Allegiant Stadium is now complete. Staff that aren't needed for hands-on activity could easily work from home.
Not to mention, the one game a week factor..... good luck keeping 24 yr old dudes with cash sitting in their hotel room for 6 days. at least the other sports will keep the guys occupied.
