OK, I'm tired of worrying about the next two weeks...for now....let's get positive and look ahead to the post-season. In all likelihood, the Jets get in as the 6th seed playing the 3rd seed (Division winner with the 3rd best record). In all likelihood, San Diego and Indy will secure the byes, and I don't believe the Jets would play New England (no intradivision opponents in wild card?), so we probably head down 95 to play the Ravens. How do you feel about that? I'm happy with it. There are no easy opponents in this AFC and would be great to see Chad pick apart Ray's boys.
BROOOOOOOO!!!! We haven't even played the Monday Night game yet! Sheesh bro, talk about the kiss of death with this thread. Calm down, hah. The Jets have to take care of their own business.
to be honest, i think this is the toughest matchup of all AFC teams that the jets have due to their monsters on defense. jets match up better vs indy (no run defense) and SD in my opinion.
There are intradivision wildcard matchups #1... and #2 why are you talking about the playoffs when we aren't even in yet?
I just came back from seeing Rocky Balboa (or as I like to call it, Rocky VI), and I gotta say, our Jets remind me a lot of Rocky. Take a lickin' and keep on kickin'! R-O-C-K-Y Rocky, Rocky, Rocky, Rocky! PS - If you see this movie, and I highly recommend you do, you MUST see it inebriated...
Could the jets potentially play the chargers in the wild card? If San diego loses 1 and Baltimore and Indy win out. Balt holds the tiebreaker vs SD, but that would leave Indy and SD with identical AFC records. Oh the madness.
I'm tired of worrying about this season and next, i think we should start talking about us winning the superbowl in 2008-09
I'd prefer to play Indy or even (yes, I know) New England in the first round. I fear that Baltimore, like Jacksonville, would beat the hell out of us, and we wouldn't get anything going offensively. Atleast with Indy or NE, I think we have a legit shot of winning. But of course, Monday night @ Miami comes first.
This thread could very well be the kiss of death. I refuse to think playoffs and speculate where we may play until we get the Miami game out of the way. Until then, it's wayyyyy too premature, and could cause just the opposite to occur- a spanking in MIA!
There is no rule about division winners and wildcard winners from same division not playing each other, so if the jets get in they could wind up playin the Pats
Actually, not at all. I dwell on a loss for all of 7 seconds, then realize that there is life beyond football. I'm just one for superstition. It's like bragging to your friends that you have a date with the prom queen, only to hear a few days later that her body has been ravaged by the flesh-eating virus....
see the funny thing is, we're talking about the playoffs, we still have 2 more games left... the really funny part is who the hell cares who we play in the first round, all AFC teams are dominant in some aspect of the game and we're going to have to play them once...if we plan on getting far into the playoffs so it doesnt really matter
