    "It's been a long road
    Getting from there to here
    It's been a long time
But my time is finally near

And I can feel the change in the wind right now
    Nothings in my way
And they're not gonna hold me down no more
No there not gonna hold me down

Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
    I've got faith to believe
    I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
And no one's gonna bend or break me
    I can reach any star"

    Heaven

    Save me from this prison
    Lord help me get away
Cause only you can save me now
    From this misery
Cause I've been lost in my own place
    And I'm getting' weary
    How far is heaven
And I know I need to change
    My ways of livin'
How far is heaven, Lord can you tell me

Cause I've been locked up way too long
In this crazy world, how far is heaven
I just keep on prayin' Lord
Just keep on livin', how far is heaven
Lord can you tell me, how far is heaven
I just got to know how far, how far is heaven
    Lord can you tell me

Tu que estas en alto cielo,
    Echame tu bendici?n
    [translated from Spanish]
[You that's in a higher place
    Send me down a blessing]

    Cause I know there's a better place
Than this place I'm livin', how far is heaven
So I just got to show some faith
And just keep on giving, how far is heaven
Lord can you tell me, how far is heaven
I just wanna know how far, how far is heaven,
Lord can you tell me, how far is heaven,
'cause I just gotta know how far,
I just wanna know far...Los Lonely Boys

I can't say I'm ever optimistic in important games.

actually, aren't we going to be alive tuesday no matter what happens? I don't think the Jets can be eliminated this week even if we lose.

"What will I do? What will I do?"

Sometimes I don?t stop to think that the Jets had won (1) SuperBowl, so I had two experiences upon which to draw for guidance. I could've chosen the tack I took in 1976, which was to be two years old and not care about football in the slightest. Or, more realistically, I could have relived 1998 and said, Well, we were never gonna beat those guys anyway." Either one would have been fine.

I finally came to the conclusion -- during the 4th quarter of the AFC championship game -- that if the Jets failed to win the game, I'd do exactly what I've always done: live my life. Nothing about the Jets or football would change, so why should my mindset or my sense of urgency? The Jets have always not won. The sun is always hot.

Yes, I was still plagued, two months after the game, by the occasional stab of pain: "We had it in the bag! Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!" And indeed the memory of the (AFC Championship game, Raiders playoff game and the Steelers playoff game etc?) loss is still painful. Still, somehow the loss didn't put me into the funk I expected. That's probably good.

    Peace out.

heartbreak is an unfortunate part of being a jets fan. i suffer from unrealistic expectations... I expect GOOD CHAD, not bad chad. Maybe this year is different. I will be glad if we get good chad as opposed to bad chad. Bad chad makes us all sad.

I am happy with the season thus far. If it ends, it ends. I was expecting a season more like the 49rs of last year. I was not expecting 8 wins. I am not expecting playoffs. I expect playoffs next year after a good offseason, and a good solid draft. A draft where we draft some young playmakers and skill positions. Maybe a couple of huge lineman too.

If we beat Miami, that would be gravy. If we don't, well I am already happy with this season. It had the makings of being a season of emense growing pains. Instead we are playing meaningfull games in December. Lifes good=)

If Miami wins, it is because they play hard and the Jets still have some growing pains and jelling to do from the coaches to the players. If the Jets win, it solidifies the team that much more in that they learn how to win big games together. Either way, its going to be a great game and a great day.

You can't go into the game having any attitude remotely negative.

You have to think positive. That's what I'm doing.

Christmas is going to be great. Christmas NIGHT could be great too :)

you cant say that this isnt one of the best possible positions to be in as a jets fan and as a sports fan. playing hated rivals on monday night football to stay alive in the playoffs, in a season where we were expected to go nowhere. i think this week no one really knows what to expect because we haven't seen this team play in a true do or die circumstance. im tryin to stay optimistic and completely believe that we are more than capable of winning, but i really cant be sure and thats what makes it awesome.

i dont know if anyone will believe me but one of my best friends is a dolphins fan, and preseason i predicted jets go 10-6 and dolphins 6-10, and when we saw the mnf schedule i told him that this game would be exactly what it is, jets in the middle of playoff race and miami trying to play spoiler. he laughed.

no matter what happens this is what bein a fan is all about and i cant freakin wait til this game man.

They will win. But even if they don't, it was a hell of a year. But they'll win.

I agree and I hate to say this from a division rival but especially with Lee Evans making game changing plays like he has being doing its been hard for defenses not to let that big play happen, like it happen twice for 83 and 82 yards in a game, just awful.

Ohhh but what about our jets???? just when we thought this was going to be an awful season for us they surprise us and actually make a run at the playoffs, we are going to win!!!!!!!! and heck we are going to win the division!!!!!!!!!!!! (sorry for that but after all i have been through this year at least I have to try to stay positive and the more the better).

Anyway if we lose much of us will see this season as a success, but maybe some of us will get mad, just curse at the other teams several times, while some will just realize that its just another year of their lives that has passed away without tasting the real thing!!! but those will be the ones we play on the first round of the playoffs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    sorry i must be :drunk:

nah let's score some touchdowns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and chant

    J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do I get the feeling that you had a lot of Dr. Seuss read to you when you were young?
