No kidding, the Jets wouldn't have gotten blown out if Roethlisberger was even decent that day. Chad's line 21/33, 182 yards, 5.5 per attempt, 0 TD, 1 INT, 3 sacks
True, plus he was playing with a throwing arm hanging by a string. Don't forget the win over the Patriots in Foxboro, week 16, 2002. The Pats were coming off a Super Bowl and needed that game just as bad as us. He was pinpoint perfect all night.
penny went into his retard shell that game and played awful. our defense and special teams kept us in the game.
I'm talking about our playoff loss on 1/15/05... Steelers 20, Jets 17. Chad wasn't good in that game? I'm not the statistician you guys are and my memory isn't that good, so if you're right I must be losing it.
I know we were the dogs and I know our DEF came up big in that game, but I guess I'm just not remembering Chad's performance that well that day.
This won't be 1986 all over again because the 06 Jets are healthy compared to the squad that took the field in 86. I'm still pretty fearful of this Miami defense...
That was so long ago it has no bearing on this coming Monday nite> Maybe JT was nicked up in that one. Maybe the scheme played then is not the scheme they play today. All I know he was unstoppable vs NE & had his moments vs Bflo also. My concern come from the Bflo game which I am sure Miami has a tape of. I am sure they will test Brick immediately as they have to consider him the weak link based on the Bflo game
The Pitt game was not a night game, it was 4:30 start. Chad on Monday Night: 2-1 record, lost at oak 26-20 in '02, beat Tennessee 24-17 in '03, beat Miami 41-14 in '04. At Oak: 22-34, 265 yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT vs. Ten: 18-23, 231 yds, 2 TDs, 2 INTs vs. Mia: 11-19, 189 yds 3 TDs, 0 INTs QB rating for the 3 games: 109.8
Yes I agree with 3rd our points came off STs but he does get a break playing with a torn rotator cuff in that one as he did in SD
I know it's a rivalry game and the Dolphins hate us BUt it is VERY, VERY hard for teams to get up to play the week after being eliminated late in the year.
This is what I meant by "moments like these". It doesn't necessarily have to be a PO game. We're talking Christmas Night on national TV folks. Almost as big as TurkeyDay. This team, AND Pennington, should play their best game of the season. The Jets are rarely on national TV anymore. Hardly ever on TurkeyDay or Xmas night. This is the opportunity to show the NFL that the Jets are no fluke. Pennington should seize this opportunity. Its Pennington's chance to erase all the doubts since the Raider game. Its Pennington's "moment" as well as the team as a whole. Like I said, all the great QB's and great teams excel in games exactly like what they Jets will be playing on Christmas Night. In front of family, friends, relatives from all over the country, every player on that field will be at their best. Its Pennington's time to shine. Its time to show exactly what this new Jets team and CS is capable of "under the lights"...
They had a really bad record though and were basically eliminated (just not officially) early in the year and continued to play hard. I see no reason why they won't play tough Monday. The winner will win by 3 like the first matchup I would say.
