I would be shocked if true. They have a ton of FAs next offseason. They'll wind up losing a bunch of players if they sign Adams and give him a big contract. Their draft picks will be at the end of each round as well, so they'd better be including some good starters at Jets' positions of need in any deal.

 

Watch us get 2 first rounders in the 30s....that would blow.

 

I mean they could decide to go all in short term like the Rams....poor strategy but not unheard of...and yeah the late picks is not what I would want...maybe they would include a player coming up on free agency in a more important position.

Surprised that Gregg Williams' comments (or non-comments) on Jamal's situation needed further clarification for some people. I figured it was common knowledge that players/coaches shouldn't talk about another player's contract. See Baker Mayfield getting railroaded last offseason when he dismissed Duke Johnson's dispute with the Browns.

Yeah, it is annoying when you see people say Adams is the most important player on the Jets. I'm like he missed 2 games and the Jets won 1 of them. Sam missed 3 games, and the Jets could barely get a first down. It is not close who is more important.

 

I keep hearing everyone talk about lamb as if we would have gotten him if we got their pick. With Adams their record would have been better and likely in the early 20s

 

While we would still be able to get a couple of good players at that spot, it would definitely blow!

 

IMO the way Williams' comments read and were portrayed, it sounded like he was siding with Adams over JD and the Jets. That's why I took issue with it. It was shocking that he would have done that, and I'm glad that's not what he meant, but it sure looked like it to me.
