Just reserved a trip on May 27th. They're already saying social distancing and no fishing without a mask. I think this is the way its gonna be for the rest of the year.

Headed out tomorrow for my 2nd trip of the season with my mask! I love the social distancing on party boats! I got all the room I need and with fewer lines in the water, I get more bites. No tangles, no crowding, most idiots stay home because they don't wanna wear a mask. Perfect!! So tomorrow is my final Seabass trip of the summer as the season ends on 6/22 and I have shit to do until July. Lingcod are up next and if these idiots don't force another shutdown being stupid and not wearing masks, I'll be out there on July 4th weekend. SeaBass picks up again in November and I got a few trips already paid for. Block Is, RI for Cod, Seabass, Pollock. Hudson Canyon for Golden Tilefish and a Dec. trip for Offshore SeaBass. Oh yeah, 1st trip I smashed them. Limit is 10 and I caught 30. Gave away 10 of my smallest, had 10 cleaned and stashed the rest in the cooler under the beer... :)

Sounds awesome. Hard to beat seabass... hopefully got some big green heads. Try some smaller slow pitch jigs for those guys. Just picked up some off ebay. Cant wait to get offshore and put em to work.
Wanted to fish inshore tomm, but its Stormin its ass off here thanks to outer bands of Cristobal. Been workin 6 days a week, and the 7th days fishing has been shutdown by weather or seas...... been surfing more than usual for this time of year though :)

Guys were racking up huge numbers using A47's and a sand eel teaser.

Those old school diamond jigs?!? didnt think anyone still used those anymore..... I'm sure my dad has some in his old tacklebox though ;) besides, I thought the only thing that ate those were angry bluefish.

The "New" butterfly / flatfall / slow pitch style jigs are a whole different level....

and who is this handsome fellah? Headed out next weekend for LingCod. Due to the rise in prices, I can only get to Jersey once a month now so I have to make it count.

Well, this boat has their own numbers so they go pretty far out. The more distance from the shorline, the size of the fish seem to get larger. Far outside 4G range too. Best guess... 20-30miles or more on a 1.5hr outbound trip. Blues have made an appearance too along with 4lb porgies. My time of year is just about here!

That last picture looks like a Jersey Blue. Went last thursday. Wound up with 37 LingCod and a very sore right arm... :) Learned a new method of keep fish cold. I had the mate fill the cooler 1/2 way with salt water and then I added 5lbs of ice... Made for a nice ice cold sludge and kept the entire catch cold until cutting time on the way back to port.
