My dear Florida friends. Here is my dilemma.

Florida too far. Don't want to take a flight and risk wife and kids. Drive is too long.

Every town from Jersey shore all the way to South Carolina is infested with crowds and no quiet town except some in Florida.

Fuck Jersey Shore, fuck Virginia Beach, fuck Myrtle Beach.

Honestly guys. What is a quiet town where I can rent a house with pool that is close to the beach. A truly Florida gem that is extremely quiet and not infested with crowds? Share some town names with me where I can AirBNB at please.

Why not head to the mountains and rent a house on a lake? Head up to Lake Champlain or Lake George, why spend a good portion of the trip driving when you can be at a nice lake in less than 5 hours. And really no one with any sense vacations in Florida in the summer, that's why I am heading out on Friday. I leaving the heat and humidity for at least 6 weeks.

Besides traveling right now down the interstate is probably not a great idea since you never know where you will hit protests blocking the highway. The route to Florida is going to take you through some hot spots of protest activity.

I was thinking July not now. I think things will quiet down by then. I hear you on humidity. Maybe I will scratch Florida and do something else. We shall see.

I live in St. Aug for a reason. :) but it's definitely changed alot since I've been here...... weekdays are pretty chill. Weekends at the beach... ehhhh

Not sure July-August would be at the top of my "month to visit" list though. ;) sea-breeze usually kicks in around 1 pm though.....

That literally was the beach near my house sunday afternoon. Been like this every weekend in may.....mostly inland folks. I'm hoping they get over being sunburnt soon. ;)

We went out on the boat this past weekend.

Good thing we have our boat at a slip in the local marina, because when we got out to Elliot Key to anchor and jump in, there must have been over 5k boats out there. I have NEVER seen anything like it.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous though!

Going down July 4th week. Having some work done on the house and have to take care of some stuff down there. @Brook! maybe Amelia Island. Pretty much the northern point of Florida. You can make it in about 14 hours. Really nice beach .
