During the trade deadline, it was Bell who showed leadership while Adams made Douglas out to be a bad guy for doing what any GM should.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present the reason we are gonna be terrible this year. This will be our distraction. Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk
His Attitude is part of him.... That's not changing. Just like OBJ or Jarvis Landry's attitude isn't going to change Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk
I don’t think they should trade Adams right now. I think a lot of this drama comes from the fact that the Jets have sucked. If you were as good as he is wouldn’t you be pissed? Let’s see how the season starts. I’ll also say I would be outright shocked if Adams is traded before the season. Truly shocked.
the only position u blow your cap up for is QB. that's it. period. if mr adams wants a cap busting number go play for someone else.
There is no number that it has been stated Adams specifically wants. I’d be curious to know what he perceives his value to be.
Ok he is asking for highest paid safety. That's roughly 15 million give or take a little. That's 7.5% of the cap. Not a cap busting number. Its half of qb pay. The money shouldn't be the issue. The fact he wants it now is the issues. And that he has been an absolute diva. It just make me think even if we give it to him, 2 years he will be at it again. And again.
Totally agree with you Brook He’s become a drama queen high maintenance reminds me of a bipolar stripper I used to date lol....On the real Jets drafted that kid Davis safety in the third round at the time I was thinking we’d have to move Maye because you’re not gonna to be able to afford both him and Adams .... Maye Seems to be the quieter more reasonable one of the two ship Adams out of here and get multiple picks
Maye is also older and a fraction of the impact Adams is. If Mahomes (same Draft) isn’t getting paid this offseason, Adams can wait too. He will play, it’s not like he’s going to hold out. I would strongly preach patience on this topic to anyone willing to listen.
Yeah but by how much would he want to set the market? Like J-Raw said, highest paid safety is totally reasonable in my opinion. If he wants to be highest paid DB... not sure I can get down with that.
Are the cowboys better this year than last? They got a good wr To trade him now and get picks next year would be bad - you lose his play and you don’t get anyone who can play this year (assuming the trade is for picks). If they were going to trade him I would guess it would have been at the draft so that guys could be drafted and contribute this year.
Well in all honesty it doesn't matter how much, as 15m for a safety is too much really and the current highest is 14.5m so if we start at 15m and expect higher then he will be traded.
I disagree. In 4 years the cap will be higher and the top safety paid will be higher. So we would have to pay him more. Also it's a good idea to extend your homegrown talents early and keep them happy. Makes no sense to wait it out and have a mad player. That said again the drama is the issue. He's at it every other month.
I agree. I like Adams but he not shutting down one side of the field. I didn't even want to pay Revis that much.
Again its 7.5% of the cap. And in 4 years it will be more like 5%. That's a good number for the top defender. If we lock him up to that kinda of deal it needs to be a 6 year deal make him stay. That said I feel like it just means he will hold out like Revis.
I don’t think $15mm for Adams is too much. He does far more than even the beater safeties in the league. Elite in man and zone coverages, against the run, and rushing the passer. I can’t think of any safety who I’ve ever seen do all of those things at a high level.
