So it didnt happen? Listen, hate who you want but the worst part about the Jamal haters, you think youre going to convince people who dont agree, the cast majority of fans, to change their minds and join in or something. You carry on and on as if the media, the ex players, the active players, the GMs etc are all wrong; And you use back assed logic like asking for a game he won and then coming back with a question about how good those teams were? Because the Jets were a good team? While ignoring the Revis question and missing the whole point of my question.
I’ve always said 1 of the issues that the Jets seem to have is trading away/not keeping talented players. The only way I trade a proven talent is for another proven talent. Right now I think I would only trade him for a proven #1 receiver, edge or cornerback.
Which talented players have we let go who have gone on to star for another team? If anything our problem is overpaying overrated players.
We had Danny Woodhead, Leon Washington, Lavernius Cole, John Abraham(although he had to go at that time), James Farrior. Just to name some I can think of off the top of my head. Robbie Anderson was a keeper too. So, we wanna play but we don’t want to pay???
You over value Robbie. He will probably never break 1000 yards. He's a deep threat, nothing more. And Teddy doesn't throw a deep ball.
If a team offers a package similar to what the Raiders got for Mack, it would be difficult to not pull the trigger. Imagine the offense with Chase/Ross and Humphrey. As I've said before, I don't expect him to get traded, but it's fun to think about who we can get with the picks we'd get back.
and like we seen with the mack trade. the chances of any of those picks being nearly as good as adams is slim and none. it's a quality over quantity thing.
It might not mean much, but FWIW.... https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...s-jets-at-stalemate-as-safety-seeks-new-deal/
The Jets will reach a long term deal with Jamal Adams. Speculating on any of the noise coming out right now is dumb, IMO.
Jamal is the most annoying and also the best player the Jets have had since Revis. The similarities are amazing. Except for the winning part......
LOL This is so accurate. He reminds me a lot of a big time WR like Dez Bryant, Ochocinco, etc. Thinks he's God's gift to the world and doesn't keep his mouth shut. I love the guy just as much as any Jets fan, but he does get on my nerves a lot of the time
I won't lie. I wanted him gone after he threw a fit because Douglas had the audacity to listen to offers for him.
Any player who gets loud about wanting a huge deal when the team holds the leverage is just trying to wag the dog. I believe the Jets will trade Adams when they find an appropriate deal with another team. I think they'll likely do this before the 2021 season. When you're building a new culture devoted to winning a dog wagger is the last thing you want as the face of the franchise.
Agree; the writing is on the wall that he is not long to be a Jet. At this point I think Douglass is just posturing to generate the best deal possible. I’m all for players getting what they believe they are worth, I just don’t need to hear about it because the only reason why players do it is to generate fear and frustration from the fans hoping public backlash will force the team’s hand. I’m not going to be complicit in your emotional games because at the end of the day my sympathies lie more with the team’s need to responsibly manage salaries than the player’s desire for another $5-20 million. Your not being rich enough means nothing to me.
