well, playoff scenarios have become much simpler for us: NE wins, Jets control their own destiny. NE loses (Jac wins), we need one of the following: NE to lose at Ten Jac to lose at KC winner of Cin-Den to lose (v. Pitt and v. SF respectively) The ideal scenario is if Jets win 2 and NE loses 2. Then we win the division. To top it off, if Jac and winner of Cin-Den win in week 17, NE is out of the playoffs! Here's to hoping!
The simplest path now for the Jets involves just one loss by a specific opponent: if Jacksonville loses to New England next week the Jets have their destiny completely in their own hands. All the other scenarios require at least two opponent losses for the Jets to get in. As much as I would like to bump New England from the playoffs and get a home playoff game in the process the KC loss and the Cincy loss make that too intricate to be a likely result. I'm rooting for New England against Jacksonville even though it pains me to do it. And a side benefit is that a New England win would remove any chance that the Jets face Jacksonville in the playoffs. Obviously New England is a better matchup for the Jets if you have to face one of the two at some point.
Yes, there's no scenario in which the Jets win 10 games and Jacksonville wins only 9 and the Jets miss the playoffs.
Depends. Jaguars can go 10-6 and the Jets still could make the playoffs. Bengals and Broncos would each have to go 1-1. What you'd root for there is this: Bengals beat Broncos Steelers beat Bengals
damnit, if Vinny hadnt gone to the chowds we'dve won the division, they're 4-1 since he got there, and the only reason they arent 5-0 is because he hasnt played yet in non garbage time!!
1. Jacksonville loses a game. Jets win out. Jets are in the playoffs. 2. If the Jets drop a game, we need Jacksonville to lose out, either Cincy or Denver to lose out, Buffalo to lose a game (hopefully to Baltimore after beating Tennessee), and Pittsburgh to lose to Baltimore (or Cincy, if we're counting on Denver to lose out). That will also get us in.
Bah. And to think beating the Bills would have put us in a position to clinch a playoff birth either on Sunday, or with a win on Monday night in Dolphin land.
if we had Vinny we beat the Bills. but, that's life, we need to somehow move on, without our hero and savior....
Stop trolling the board with Vinny stuff everywhere as you are doing. It's against the rules. It has no place in this thread, and sooner or later, every thread will be hijacked, and you'd be the one responsible.
where's trolling?? im making a point, im giving my opinion (well in this case fact anyway). isnt that the point of this messageboard, a bunch of people give a bunch of opinions and engage in discussion about these bunch of opinions? or is speaking your mind not allowed around these parts or else the thought police arrest you? come on, i havent made one personal attack whatsoever, i have an opinion, i give it, i simply cant grasp what is wrong with that. if that's the way TGG thinks it should be, maybe it would be more advised to have like one mission statement opinion of how everybody is supposed to think regarding this team, and just say up front that if you disagree with the mission statement, you get BANNED!!!!!! sheesh
Man you took it too far. I honestly just wish you didn't see Vinny as the solution to every single problem, related or not.
IF the Pats beat the Jags and the Jets beat the Dolphins, and saying for the sake of argument that Cincy beats Denver, what scenarios on week 17 see the Jets miss out on the playoffs?
