Wouldn't it be great if the Jets become a QB factory? Drafting/Developing Sam's BU every other season, then trading him for a 1st round pick. Think Garoppolo. If Morgan really DOES develop into a QB with starting capabilities, there will be teams every year that will trade for him.
Well there you go...NE was looking hard at Morgan as a potential QB for the team. How do you still ding JD for grabbing this kid after watching this? And to think we used NE's pick to do it was sweet justice!
Thank god we didn’t go with Matt Rhule. His first draft as HC is Defense from Round 1-5. He has to have some kind of influence.
He did that while also dismantling his offense by cutting Cam and moving Trai Turner. Strange draft for them. He's so overrated.
They were one of the worst defensive teams in the league. They have the best RB in football, upgraded at QB and added a WR during free agency. It’s not that weird to me that they’d try to bolster the worst side of the ball. Kind of like how half of the Jets fanbase says OFFENSE NO MATTER WHAT when the offense sucks.
At this point - your not going to find a starter that’s better then what they have on the roster during the rest of this draft
If this kid ever plays it’s because Sam was hurt or he sucks. Then, Sam would be the one to be traded and it won’t be a first round pick lol
I do find it interesting that as I study the players we drafted, we seem to be going after high ceiling low floor type of guys.....definitely swinging for the fences. I actually think Perine is our ONLY pick that doesn't fit that description.
I want Proche but I wouldn’t be surprised if we hold off on WRs till the 6th. Still 6 or so WRs I’m into available. CB Lamar Jackson time perhaps? Maybe trade back, Still lots of talent out there.
Maybe. But Morgan can develop w/o sending Sam to the bench. Morgan can be highlighted in spot duty backing up Sam, Training Camp, including pre-season games, and so forth. Just like Garoppolo did. Just saying that if Morgan develops and shows significant talent, SOMEBODYs gonna trade for him.
Might be the most polished guy left... Not huge upside, but I think he can contend for a starting spot.
Me and JD too. But there's been chatter that Morgan might be too good to ride the pine his whole career. And if Sam develops into a FQB where Morgan will have no chance of starting here, then in 3 years when his contract is close to being up JD might dangle him as trade bait, then start over with a new 4th round BUQB pick!
