I think we need to acknowledge that the mess Douglas walked into wasn't going to get cleaned up in one offseason.
Honestly not overly thrilled so far. In all likelihood, the jets have the worst set of skill position players in the NFL. I thought they would be aggressive to change that with the first 3 rounds. I would have used the 3rd picks on offensive players and def would not have used a 4th on a QB that will either be on taken a 3rd QB spot or be on sombody else’s roster
That can't be understated. This draft looks good on paper. People forget that we have a lot of defensive backs on the roster and we will likely see the three safety, two linebacker look. If Davis can cover like he's touted to, you can move Adams into the box and let him roam like Polamalu used to. I can't believe Curtis Weaver is still there.
I still think Edoga, if he’s trained hard this year, should be able to absorb last year and contibute at RT. TBD though
Aye, God, Prince Valiant to the non-rescue. Thread lightly, lol. Anyway, I got it, I got it! Another OL pick. Am I on drugs? Don't answer that.
Not one WR has been selected since the Jets have picked. We will be in the thick of it for the next WR run!
I love you @jetophile but I do think the socks deal is weird. It's sort of how lefties are also weirdos. Not bad people, but the pineapple on pizza types.
Kudos to JD. That drop in the 2nd that still got us our WR also added our BUQB for the future AND more high end BEEF for the Oline. Neither of these guys woulda been a Jet if not for JD's insight to trade down. I know picking a BUQB you've never heard of b4 sucks when we want firepower NOW!!! But that's what makes a GM special. He knows a BUQB can easily become the most important player on the field for at least a game or two a year. Winning those games is often the difference between making the playoffs and going home. 2019 we averaged 8 points per game with a BUQB, losing all 3. If you're a good GM, you can't have that going forward. Just be thankful we had extra picks. Think of how much more it woulda sucked if we only had ONE 4th round pick like normal years and had to waste it on a BUQB. We got that pain in the ass pick out of the way in a draft that we had tons of extra firepower. Now that's one pick we won't have to worry about in upcoming drafts. And yes, I think NE was looking hard at Morgan. A strong arm pocket passer similar to Drew Bledsoe that NE woulda LOVED to have snagged in the later rounds. Not gonna happen now!
I think Morgan isn't coming in here thinking he wants to be a career backup. The kids story is pretty incredible and seems like he works his tail off. Lots of intriguing traits. -Cannon Arm -Tough as nails -High IQ -Great size -Incredible Leader -Stepped up in big games If he can clean up some stuff, we can perhaps have ourselves a high potential backup. I was high on him before the draft....not surprised we pulled trigger a bit early. And if he becomes decent, it can also mean future trade bait. Look what NE did for years......
He transferred to FIU knowing it would be a QB comp. Won the job. says Jets were in communication a lot and he’s comfortable with the coaching staff. really excited to Be in NY
