Hopefully he is, but Robby was a UDFA not a #2 pick. Maybe getting the extra 3rd is worth it, but so far I'm doubtful. I would've much preferred staying at 48 and taking Claypool.
No he’s going to a better player than Polite - I didn’t like the Polite pick the minute it was announced. Better moves and more mature.
Jesus Christ, I'm sorry. He's only the leading rusher of all fucking time. How often do those get drafted? I didn't know there was an experation date. God forbid anyone brings up Joe Namaths old ass. More recently you could add Joe Haden, at least one of the Pouncey brothers and Trent Brown.
I get that, but Robby was a starting WR for us last year. If Mims can do that job and match or exceed his production-- and with his catch radius, I don't think that will be a problem-- it's a win.
Maybe. But Robby was NOT a #1 WR and that's what I was hoping we'd be looking to get in this draft. We still don't have a #1 unless Mims vastly exceeds his assessment.
Yeah, the Jets and projects, which is probably why our draft picks always wind up working at Home Depot. Haha.
They aren't though. Depends who you are believing I suppose. The guys we got are guys that can potentially be very good fits for this team. It's preference really. I mean, It's not like the guys we drafted weren't productive in college. This is a new system, new GM, new process. You can't look back at the past with this team and compare. It's not the same. We literally don't know yet how well these guys will fit on this team. I am choosing to believe that Joe D knows what he is doing in the middle rounds here and I hope It shows very soon.
Yes, we should consider that we are clearly playing zone defense mostly this year. Witness the cornerbacks we're going after/keeping (Desir, Ryan, Maulet). The reports I read on Davis is that he is most comfortable in zone. Considering the speed/size/instincts Davis has, I think we just drafted our next good zone cornerback.
They are though. No one had Zuniga rated above Baun, no one. It's not preference, it's popular opinion. Too many higher rated guys at more pressing areas of needs that were passed on. That's how I view his Round 3 so far. To each his own.
There's the difference-- I was hoping for a #1 LT, and I think we got that. I just wanted to improve on Robby, and I think we did.
Douglas did, clearly. I'm not saying it was a good or bad pick, time will tell, but saying no one had him rated higher than Baun is not accurate .
