Bradway would have traded up to get Wills. He probably would have traded up to 7 or 8 giving up the 48 and 69 to make the move. I watched him for a long time when the Jets were still good from the Parcells years and I got a really good feel for his moves.
so far biggest winner of this draft is Bell. Becton and Mims upgrade the run blocking on multiple levels.
That wouldn't be a bad choice, though the injury history is concerning. I'd also look at Kenny Willekes if he's still around at the end of the third. He might be around in the 4th too. He's a bit raw, but he's got a motor on him!
Define worked? The Jets made the playoffs twice in the following 14 years after making them 4 out of the 6 years prior to the deal. That doesn't sound like "worked" to me.
Poor drafting from 2008 onwards, giving away picks like candy on Halloween, and Sanchez not becoming more than a game manager had a lot to do with it.
I read somewhere JD was interested in a particular DT but he was a late rounder...forgot his name. He did several virtual interviews with him ...
Or Denzel Mims. It occurred to me that a classic Tanny move would have been to trade up to 40 from 48, grab Mims and claim the jets got the 33rd person on their list... BTW, I like Mike Tannenbaum a lot, just not as a GM. He really did work his way up to his level of lesser competence by spending a lot of long hours doing scrub work. He was a great capologist also until he also had to deal with the consequences of his less than stellar GM work.
Damn right he was. The greatest 6th round talent of all time. Side note: I wanted the Jets to draft Brady after they drafted Chad in 2000. I was kind of annoyed when the Pats got him. Not because I thought he would be great but because he was a very smart, competitive player and I'd have loved to have him backing up Chad. Re-side note: and of course I love the Wolverines... Bastards in Foxboro have Uche now and I have to root against him.
