Claypool off the Board..and we could have taken him? I am trusting our GM and trying to rationalize but you are usually right:/
We have a GM with balls, He is betting his targets are there at 59 and now With 3 third rounders. Meaning the WR he really wanted was gone early. Obviously he was not as high on the rest as some of us here. Love having now 4 picks in the heart of the draft with a shit load of needs.
Half the names from the 2nd to 4th rounds fall away and are never heard from after their second season or so. In that light trading 48 for 59 and 101 is always the right move. Always. It's just getting somebody willing to trade up with you that is the hard part. Belichik does this literally every year. He traded the 23 down 14 picks to pick up a 3rd rounder last night. You think that wasn't a bigger risk than what Joe D just did?
This team has been so bad at drafting period so a lot of us are still feeling the hangover from the last 7-8 years of drafting ineptitude. I personally would want as many high picks as possible. The further you go back, it becomes much more of a risk.
I hope you're right because most of the WRs I liked are gone. I'm not thrilled with any of them that are left. Mims is the only one with #1 WR potential imo.
I hate this logic. What on Earth does any other player have to go with Mims? Seriously. It's the worst possible way to view a player. Tony Romo couldn't be a borderline HOFer because no other QB from Bumblefuck USA Conference ever succeeded? C'mon. You want to tell me he's too soft or not a great high pointer? Fine. But to say he can't bc of his conference is flat out dumb.
I agree with this...I saw a tweet he liked Higgins and Pittman, obviously both were gone early Maybe he has 10 WRs similarly rated after then and the value was to move back?
Jones and Cushenberry next two picks. Then go WR. Give Sam time and he'll excel, regardless who is catching passes. As others have said, just sign Ryan as opposed to drafting a CB.
Everyone leading up to the draft: this draft has legendary depth at WR everyone half way into the 2nd Rd: IT'S OVER EVERYONE GOOD IS LONG GONE
Mims might be one of those guys that is a really good college player and it becomes strange that he struggles in the NFL. I never saw a lot of refined route running out of him or fluidness in breaks. He was just running by shitty Big 12 defensive backs. We'll see. He also takes a lot of big hits. I like the kid too but I'm not all in on him. Runningback should be in the discussion here too. We only have one more year of Bell.
I heard on TV earlier today that Dak Prescott's brother died. Goodell just mentioned it. AT LEAST HE DIDN'T SAY SOMETHING INVASIVE.
The Jets are going to have their own personal draft round at this rate I guess there is no way to really analyze if this is good or not until we end up seeing what happens. I guess it could go either way but I'm cautiously optimistic. One more lotto ticket never hurt anybody as long as it doesn't turn out that we passed on some hall of famer.
True. At this point, the more shots you have available to take, the better your chances to land a bulls eye.
