i didnt notice. All good. It didnt go down how I thought, now we do as we always do as Jets fans... hope for the best and somehow justify this as the best possible pick (like Q. Williams last year)... at least this one fills a need.
I don't think they will. McGovern is better at C than OG and said so himself. He said he'd play OG if that's what the Jets want him to do, but he prefers C. He is the only FA that got a true 3-year contract. I think he's our C. Ruiz might would beat him out, but I'm certain that Hennessy wouldn't. I think the Jets take a WR at #48.
I don't know how much I like Becton over Wirfs. As others have said, this is high risk high reward. There's also some character issues. Not that smoking weed is a huge deal in and of itself, but the fact is that it's dumb to smoke it when you're going for the NFL. This isn't a complete "what the fuck" pick like picking yet another defensive tackle when more important positions needed filled. But I hope that Joe has seen stuff that maybe we don't. I think Becton needs to drop a few pounds still as well.
Jeudy off the board. I don't think Lamb will have to wait much longer, probably going to Philly at 21.
Yes, I agree. Over the last few days, I became even more convinced that tackle was our greater need over WR (of which there will be Pro Bowl potential WR's at 48). I began to lean toward Becton because I was tired of drafting safe but limited players and I wanted the Jets to gamble on greatness (supported by experts like Jerimiah, not universally questioned by experts like Hackenberg). But I was worried about the rumored run on tackles, and that TB traded up after we made our pick validated this worry. Anyway, everybody around Becton is saying that he worked his but off to get down to 353 from 390, and that he continues to bust his butt to further slim down. I absolutely trust JD to evaluate all the O linemen, and if he thinks Becton has more talent/upside than Wirfs and is worth the 11th pick I don't think I can disagree. In any case, Becton on tape looks like King Kong swatting the airplanes away! He also comes across in interviews as an intelligent and self-aware young man! I'm sold!
Is it possible that with a WR-rich draft, teams are waiting it out? Better for us. If we take one with the second round pick, it might result in a better WR. Perhaps we’re in an ideal position there.
I was going to say that. Can't help but root for a guy in life who lived with such instability and uncertainty. Good luck to him . . . just not against the Jets, haha.
I hope I'm wrong about this, but I don't think Q. Williams will ever approach the play of Aaron Donald, and I think that both Derek Brown and Javon Kinlaw will both be much better players than Q. Williams.
Jeudy is a Bronco. Would have been crazy if he fell to the Cowboys. Jeudy across from Cooper would have been insane.
