Maybe you havent listened to real metal... just look at some of the tabs, the riffs some of those bands play are harder then anything Mayer does, and yes i have listened to Mayer.
yes i was again someone who is soo ignorant and knows nothing about guitar or drums. anyone who has any knowledge of drums.. knows how talented travis is. Blink 182 is a horrible band but Travis Barker... one of the best at his craft. I win.
i have never said there aren't bands out there who play complicated music in the metal scene. i know this... but to say something like john mayer doesnt know how to play his instruments is CRAZY.
No Travis Barker is ok.. just listen to most metal drummers and i would say the majority of them are better then him.

My knowledge of guitar is more than competant enough for me to hold this debate. I dont play drums, but Im more than familiar enough with the instrument to offer the constructive criticism that Travis Barker is an overhyped piece of dookie. And stop trying to act like you know something.
and for the record... i have played guitar for over 10 years . Piano 6 years. Drums 5 years give or take i am only 19 years old.
