Worst passing O in the league that year. Our OL was beastly in the run game. I would love to see Sam with that O.

Hmm, not a great example of that guys judgement. and then this sorta pisses me off a little... Lawrence is a Christian. Lawrence has said, "Football's important to me, but it's not my life. It's not the biggest thing in my life. My faith is. I put my identity in what Christ says, who He thinks I am and who I know that He says I am." What a pile of tosh.
I never understand this argument. Sanchez threw an 80 yard touchdown to Braylon Edwards and the Jets had a 17-6 lead in the AFC Championship Game. Not sure he is the one to blame. If the Jets went (5-11) with Sanchez I would get it. But can't ask for much more than an 11 point lead in an AFC Championship Game. You want more wins to get home field? Nothing is guaranteed. The Jets could have lost the divisional or wild card game at home.
I'm not blaming him for losing the AFC Championship game in Indy. But, there were a number of games we lost that year where Sanchez turned it over multiple times. Win two of them, we win the division, which we haven't done since 2002. Win a few more and we are right up there with the Chargers and Colts for a first round bye. It would've been nice to have a home playoff game for a change. Winning three straight road games in the playoffs is difficult. That's all.
One thing to remember about the 2020 Jets is that although they did not spend big in free agency they have at least one star in the middle of the defense coming back from injury in C.J. Mosley and they're unlikely to have Darnold out for the first quarter of the season. I think they are likely to improve based just on those two factors. Now add in that LeVeon Bell can't be worse than he was last year and they'll have another OT or WR with high potential out of the draft and things look much better.
Got ya. Yeah, all of that is true. I just don't like Sanchez being blamed for those years because clearly Rex and his defense let the team down in both championship games. Mark played his best in the playoffs. I get what you are saying though. Maybe the defense and the team would not have been gassed if they had a home game in 2010, instead of going to Indy, then NE, then Pittsburgh. In 2009, we all know Peyton and the Colts are worse on the road, so it would have been nice to host them, but they were (14-0) so that was unlikely even if Mark played perfect during the season. I feel like those teams embraced the underdog mentality though. They could have easily lost a Wild Card game they hosted at home. Never know.
The genteel way of saying what a pile of shit. I was born in New York city so I figured I should translate that for the rest of us in the most New York way possible. You guys crack me up. I always thought it was hilarious when the English say things such as, "Good Day, Sir! I SAID GOOD DAY!" and it's essentially the equivalent of telling somebody to screw off . . . but somehow it's more insulting. You know, some guy is inhaling and about to counter and say his piece with his finger in the air all wait a second now and then gets chopped below the knees with, "I SAID GOOD DAY!" Brutal, haha. Oh, and it is a pile of tosh. What Christ says! Did you ring him up recently and shoot the shit? Who does he think you are and what do you know that he says you are. What the fck. If I said that for instance about the guy who delivers my home heating oil I think people would run away from me or at least step to the other side of the room no Coronavirus.

watched the 2011 dallas opener against jets and sanchez looked like a competent QB that night. though wayne hunter was already greasing his turnstile in game 1. there were many games when he looked like a decent QB that could develop into a very competent winning QB - with the right supporting cast.
That was the most frustrating thing about Mark. The most consistent thing about him was how inconsistent he was. He could play like Peyton Manning or Ryan Leaf depending on the play, depending on the drive, depending on the half, depending on the game. You just never knew. Somehow, he stepped up when it mattered most and played some of his best football in the playoffs.
