People can't help themselves, even after a win. Chad was throwing the deep ball well yesterday, nobody seems to ever acknowledge that.

On topic, I'd take Coles over Burress any day of the week.

I wonder if mad dog thinks we would ever want burress over Coles?

Honestly which wide reciever would you rather have on your team?

Laveranues Coles 87catches 1065yds 6TD's 2nd in the league with receptions and 9th in the league with yds.

burress 60catches 907yds 9TD's pretty garbage, and he plays with his head in his ass.

Jericho Cotchery almost has better stats. 71catches 858yds 5TD's

Exactly... There was a play yesterday that Coles was wide open and by the time the ball got to him he had to back a brilliant play to come up with the ball with defenders pouncing on him.

Plaxiglass would be a great player if he had less mouth and more BALLS.

I know.. my point was that threads like these always stray towards Pennington.. however your point is correct... with a QB like Eli Manning Coles would be making many more plays downfield because of Manning's arm. However, he also wouldn't be making those tough catches over the middle because Eli wouldn't find him as much. I would much rather have Coles

Assuming Manning is accurate and makes the right decision to throw it to him in the first place. It's pretty easy to tell which posters here remember Browning Nagle and which ones don't.

You have to consider their roles as "playmakers." Yes, Burress has better YPC stats, but he has not shown the consistent ability to get open that Coles does.

Anyone who watched the Jets Steelers playoff game a few years ago, after David Barrett dismissed Burress' ability, and then the Jets secondary rendered him irrelevant accordingly knows what I'm talking about.

Chad is a smarter QB but doesn't have the arm or skills Manning has. Manning is still a young QB with still a lot to learn. But his leash is getting shorter i'll give you that.

Burress IS more of a gamebreaker than Coles.. Coles does not stretch the field. Maybe it's because of Pennington, but he's a possession receiver. He's very tough and makes nice moves after the catch, but he's not Burress in terms of going up top...

Now I don't want Burress anywhere near my team, and Coles can play whenever he wants, so don't take this the wrong way..

Plexiglass makes more big plays but he also drops a lot more passes, takes off a lot more plays, doesent finish all of his routes, cant take the big hit, fumbles a lot, and cant block for shit. I would rather have Coles any day.

I like Coles more than Burress as a receiver, but what about those stats for Burress makes them "garbage"? He has 3 more TDs than Coles with 27 less receptions.

He was a posession receiver when Vinny was the QB too, Santana Moss was the deep threat. That's just what he is.

If you are going to quote me and then refute something I am saying at least remember to read the entire post. My next sentence said that Manning would not have the awareness to find Coles over the middle.

Bingo... Coles know's his QB can't throw it down the field.. so why would he stretch the field.
