He's mentioning others but I think he tipped his hat a little bit, it's clear he's not confident in what we have right now after those signings.

    I see OT at 11.

I read it the complete opposite way but the good news is, who cares. We need both WR and OT equally as bad and odds are we’re taking one at 11. Win win.

I would have no problems with that if it were a better, deeper OT class. After the top 4 there's a drop off, then there are only 2-3 prospects at the 2nd tier, and then imo there's a HUGE dropoff in talent and ability. There are a couple of projects that if they develop will probably take at least a year, if not two, but you don't want to overdraft those types. There are a couple who could be solid to pretty good RTs, but if we miss out on the top 4 and Jones, I think I'd rather just go ahead and forget about drafting an OT this year. Instead, draft 2 WRs, a CB or two, an IOL or two and an Edge or two, a RB, and re-sign Beacham or sign Jason Peters. Then if Fant and Edoga don't prove to be good enough, OT would be a priority again in FA and the draft next year.

There will be some good interior lineman mid to late in the draft. Seems to be 5 OT at the top, they may not be generational talents but they are building blocks.

You forget the line and Sam will continue to suffer just like last year. 2nd round and on go after some wide outs. I wouldn't mind Peters but havent seen any interest. Fant and Edgoa are not good enough. Cannot wait till next year and they need depth.

You missed that I said draft an IOL (Interior Offensive Lineman) or two in my list. I've also said that I hope the Jets can take one of the top 5 OT prospects. I'm not suggesting that Douglas should just forget the line. I'm hoping that Douglas has been in contact with both Beacham's and Peters' agents and has made arrangements to possibly sign them immediately following the draft should we not get one of the top 5 OTs. I don't think Fant and Edoga are good enough, either, and there's no depth. Jason Spriggs is still out there as a FA as well. If he doesn't have a plan B for OTs, Sam could be in trouble.

While I think our depth at the IOL positions is fine, and the FAs Douglas signed can play multiple positions, I think he should draft at least one, if not two IOL. Get the OL as solid as possible. Outside of the top 5 OTs, and maybe 1-2 RT prospects, I don't think there's anyone in the draft at OT that can help us this year, and maybe never.

Nice smoke screen on the draft question. Everybody knows the Jets are prioritizing OL this year so him confirming an OT pick likely at 11 really means he is going to draft a great player there. Might even be an OT if the right one slips.

I'm leaning WR on the 11 at this point. I think that's where the superstar is likeliest to be found in this draft.

yep, I agree. And to me, it's not fair to him if this dysfunctional organization tries to rush him or try to get him to play again. Q should do the right thing for him and retire. No shame in that. Great dude.

Actually - let's see if Pollack is any good. The excuse last year has been [he's been given donkeys.] Let's see if the protection does get better with better prospects.

If it still sucks - I hear there is this OL coach Tony Wise. Yes - he's been retired after 2010, but he can't be all that bad, right? I mean, he produced quite a few number of fantastic rushing output for a number of years. He even worked with us at one point. If Hoodie can stay in this coaching business at his age, Tony certainly can jump back in. And we know what he can do. He is really good at shoring up that OL.

I listened to the press conference and there are only a couple takeaways of note in my opinion. -

-Fant is not a lock to start at LT. While to some people that may seem like an obvious choice, many GM’s would be more gung-ho about a player they just signed for $9mm. I think it’s great that there is not pressure to play a guy just because the GM signed him.

-There is room for another acquisition of note. While talking about being disciplined financially, he references leaving the door open to move on a player who becomes available. This could be in reference to Jedeveon Clowney or Trent Williams. I’m leaning more towards Yannick Ngakoue. He could be looking to trade 2021 picks after the draft.

*Goes full tilt on defense*. j/k, but you know the inner fear is not completely irrational. I know, I know, different management; but since when does the Jets changing names, dates, and places ever affect the outcome? Hopefully now . . . looks over shoulder to see if something is following me . . . like history.

Indeed, we are once again at a cross-roads. 2011 all over again, lets kill our young promising QB, its about that time anyway.

Interesting enough, Sam is going into his 3rd year ... Sanchez got destroyed also in his 3rd year.

We slowly dismantled everything around Sanchez by year 3 though. With Sam we’re finally building it up. To me it’s still never going to matter for as long as Gase is here but I’m not worried about Darnold following the Sanchez trajectory because he’s a far better QB and like I said, we’re getting better slowly but surely. Lamb or Jeudy would accelerate that process for sure.

Said this on March 2. This is more telling to his offensive philosophy than anything he said in his presser which hints at taking an OL. Ruggs fits that bill perfectly.

What, you'd give a top 3 pick for him?

There is no Douglas is trading a 1st round pick in any draft for anything that does not include at least another 1st round pick in the current draft. It's just not happening. He's too well grounded to treat the draft like trade fodder.

I'd hate to pass on Ja'Marr Chase in 2021. :)

Maybe I took that a little too far. Time to take out the sage ...
