Your point proves my point. The backup QB is irrelevant if you build a deep talented team all around. All of those teams you listed did not perform because of the backup QB. They performed because a backup QB was surrounded by great talent that helped tremendously in making his job easier. Again, who the fuck cares about the backup QB. If you build a playoff team that is well balanced, even if the backup QB comes in, he will likely be serviceable.
Disagree.... The backup QB doesnt matter when the team sucks. If you think you have a legit shot, you better have a solid benchwarmer...... hint, the JETS have neither
I'm not happy with this, but there is still time to add another QB. The Jets literally had no one behind Sam except Mike White. I can't imagine the Jets would trust Fales to come in for Sam after the 2019 nightmare of Siemian and Falk, but who knows? You would think they'd learn their lesson and have a quality back-up QB.
Again, if you have a deeply talented team surrounding that backup, you can win those few games and make that backup like much better than he is. My point is, the Jets are in no position, whatsoever, to spend money on a backup QB when the entire roster needs to be addressed. Falk is an easy signing that is cheap. The goal is to never use the backup, but if the Jets are forced to use their backup again, I can guarantee you no backup on this planet would win games with the roster we had last year.
