Makes sense. I don't think he's a great fit there but whatever.

Possible Teddy requested him as they worked together in camp.

Samuel will be in the slot.

Rhule was his college coach and they have Joe Brady, the darling of OC’s currently.

"Really nice"? No. It wouldn't have been really nice, @ all.

It would've stunk as Robby Anderson is literally almost 2x the receiver that Dorsett has ever been and has also been building chemistry with Sam Darnold heading into Sam's 3rd year (the same year it began to crumble for Mark Sanchez).

I'm an FSU fan of the ACC living in Florida. And I remember Philip Dorsett coming out of Miami. First and foremost his NCAA production never warranted a 1st round draft pick to begin with and secondly during his 3 or 4 matchups against FSU I remember him doing pretty much absolutely nothingness against our Defense(s).

I laughed when I watched him get drafted during the 1st round.

Dorsett: 1st round (damn near) bust!
    5 years / 71 games played.
    124 receptions (74 1st down receptions).
    1,634 receiving yards.
    11 TD receptions.

    Robby: Undrafted steal!
    4 years/62 games played.
    207 receptions (122 1st down receptions).
    3,059 receiving yards.
    20 TD receptions.

You give Robby Anderson 22 games of Andrew Luck and another 48 games with the greatest QB of All-Time in Tom Brady as Robby's QUARTERBACK(s) and Anderson's statistical numbers and highlight videos would've skyrocketed.

Look @ what Brady did with our cast-off in Danny Woodhead and then imagine what he could've done with an electric Robby Anderson.

Even his backup QB was a career winner in Matt Hasselbeck (8 games) compared to Robby's two career losing and below .500 with 0 postseason games combined in Fitz/McCown.

It would have been worse than Mason trying to replace Cotchety or Plaxico trying to replace Braylon heading into 2011; just ask Mark Sanchez himself how it felt to become forced fed with Derrick Mason and Plaxico Burress.

There would have been nothing nice let alone really nice especially for Sam Darnold by losing Robby Anderson and having to settle for and be forced fed with Dorsett.

Curtis can ball man, so can DJ Moore. I wonder if Robby will put up good numbers there. Teddy isn't an aggressive QB, but hes a decent one. Should be interesting to see.

I am happy for him though.

We need a WR ASAP....unless we plan on drafting multiple WRs which I guess would be smart considering how many good ones there are coming up

Hopefully Doctson realizes his potential as well, forgot about him

I really hate pigeonholing ourselves into a WR at 11

If we draft Lamb or Jeudy and sign Perriman, we're in no worse shape than we would be with Robby.

I don't think we are pigeonholed, but I sure hope one of the big two is there. Even if we go OL, there are starting receivers into the third round of the draft. This is the one year I'm fine with relying on the draft to find a starter.

WR market is picking up today, Joe needs to secure a guy, hoping Perriman today it looks like.

Robby is gone, Dorsett to the Seahawks and Travis Benjamin to the Niners all today.

Well. Sucks for Sam Darnold as Robby Anderson was an exciting talent and Carolina just landed one of the NFL's best deep threat WR's.

We can draft a Jeudy or Lamb and still not have an explosive WR opposite @ WR2 now that Carolina stole the best remaining and available FA WR.

As of now. The Jets have a slot receiver in Crowder and nothing else @ WR. Not even a deep threat to stretch the field and clueless Jet fans are happy about this? Ha.

Ruggs will probably be in consideration as well. I have major concerns relying on a rookie receiver early in the season, hopefully Crowder / Herndon are ready for the challenge. Maybe Quincy somehow comes back healthy.

Unless somehow someone pulls a Terry Mclaurin, that dude was a monster out of the gate.

    They'd better sign Perriman.

Our corps would be something like

    Crowder
    Jeudy
    Perriman
    Enunwa
    Doctson

    Which isn't horrible

maybe Berrios starts to emerge and jumps Doctson.

I still don't think we're pigeonholed at WR there. Let's wait to see if Douglas signs a free agent or makes a trade. Still time for that.

Yes. I think rosters will grow by two or three players, game day active rosters will be bigger by two players, and I think the PS can be two players bigger as well.

With the Robby news, I'd be looking at Perriman and Robinson. Each of them would cost less than Robby I'd think, and if JD can manage it under the budget, I'd bring them both in.
