It's a badge of dishonor. A permanent reminder not to judge a Jet until their career ends, even when they have a massive breakout year and you think they are going to be a ring of honor level guy. And the beast bit had nothing to do with him anyway, its an old nickname. So, no hyperbole. I've been waiting for someone to bring this up for a good few years now. Well done!
It seems to me the JD is having a good if not very good FA signings. he has a plan sticking to it within his price point, quite refreshing and to boot, he signs Jenkins, Burgess and retains Williams so the LB core is it remains healthy is going to be a strong point for the team. Hopefully, we get a LT, EW, CB and edge in the draft and we should (key word here - remember we still have AG) better.
I think Griffin is going to sign with a contender but Curry we have a shot at because of his relationship with Douglas. Although at this point in his career I'd imagine Curry would want to be with a contender as well. I think one of them ends up a Colt.
Curry is from NJ, so him coming home might help. Griffin might but ya never know gotta make the call.
Clowney was never coming here. JoeD used that as a mental game to get Jordan Jenkins to sign. Jenkins blinked. Advantage JoeD!
I think that's a waste. PR is a premium position. If they were any good they'd be gone by the end of round 1, unless they have some sort of issue and you want to take a flyer, but we saw how well that played out last year.
What round was Jordan Jenkins drafted in? I get he's not one of the top 5 pass rushers that every team would love to have, but he's young, his sack numbers continue to go up (8), and he's a dog against the run. win-win-win. AND he's cheap (still). If he picks up 2 more sacks in 2020 (10) and he could with Quinnen stepping up in year 2 and Adams continuing to terrify QBs, he could be considered elite by the NFL at large. Add just a bit more DB to our backfield, forcing QBs to hold the ball 0.0001 second longer, and Jenkins could be a top FA after the 2020 season. Proven edge setting pass rushers don't come along very often. I wish JoeD locked him up for at least 2 years.
Disagree entirely. If our biggest pass rusher is Jordan Jenkins, then we have issues. We have a severe need at push rusher, including when Jenkins was on our roster last year
Well, he’s certainly more correctly valued. I disagree that Clowney is allergic to defending the run actually, my issue with Clowney is a motor that’s not always running and undisciplined play. If those issues weren’t there he’d be a $20 million player or close.
exactly. it also sets a bit of a cultural tone about continuity and wanting players back who do things the right way. Price will be important. SOme numbers being rumored seemed a bit high
