I got it from Daniel Jeremiah, and i think quite a few teams have two pass rushers. It does not mean elite necessarily, no team will have 12 pro bowlers, these are basically good to elite level players. It’s more about their role on the team than what positioj they play. As far as teams with 2 pass rushers in 2019: Chiefs, Frank Clark and Chris Jones Jaguars, Josh Allen and Calais Campbell 49ers, Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner Steelers, Bud Dupree and TJ Watt Buccaneers, Shaq Barrett and Jason Pierre-Paul Rams, Aaron Donald and Dante Fowler Jr Chargers, Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram Broncos, Von Miller and Bradley Chubb The list goes on but i think the point has been made.
Mosley, Hewitt, Burgess, Cashman on the interior... I can’t help but think Williamson is the odd man out at this point.
He sure as shit shouldn’t be. Hewitt, Burgess and Cashman should never ever make this roster over a proven high-value commodity like Williamson. And I’m not saying I dislike those three. I like them a lot actually as rotational guys. But no way in hell should they be on the roster over one of the most efficient tackling and run stopping LBs in the league.
Guy... if you're gonna say something as bold as that you gotta back it up with SOMETHING. The last season Williamson played he was literally ranked the most efficient tackling LB in the league. He's played 5 seasons, 4 of them are over 90 tackles and 3 of them are over 100. He had 120 tackles two seasons ago with the Jets. There's no way in hell you're going to tell me an average-at-best journeyman can do what he does.
He played the majority of last season as ILB 1 on an excellent run defense team, that’s really all you need to know.
Yea I honestly don't know what the weird fascination with getting rid of him is especially considering how low the cap hit is, all things relative. $8.5 mil for a ridiculously efficient run blocker and tackler? I take that every day of the week.
McGovern Van Roten Desir Clear upgrades. Fant is very much TBD. The rest has been bringing back our own guys which was equally as important (Poole, Jenkins specifically).
I could see Williamson getting cut. He got the dreaded ACL injury and the Jets can save $6 mill by releasing him after the draft.
Ill give ya Desir. he's an upgrade over Roberts. So... upgrades at center and a CB2 only. I don't care about bringing back shitty players from last year gonna be another long year
Van Roten is a definite upgrade over our guards as well. Frankly our interior line has been garbage for a few years.
You still haven't accepted that you were 100% factually wrong about Van Roten? And Poole was the best slot corner in the league... do you need me to provide that info for you to ignore as well?
hmmm well, I was talking about starters. One of those guards is back - Lewis. So unless you think Van Roten is a definite upgrade over Winters, then he doesn't qualify. I don't think he's a definite upgrade over Winters. I think he is an upgrade in depth, sure, but not a slam dunk day 1 starter. or ... at least he shouldn't be considered one
Van Roten is a definite upgrade over either Lewis or Winters and will start over either. There will be a camp battle but neither of them will beat him. He will be a starter this year unless he get hurt or we draft 2 players that are absolutely better which I don't see.
hahaha I don't think it is even possible to be "factually wrong" in evaluating players, that's cute. you think he's good, I think he's depth/below average, these are opinions, not facts. poole had a good year but best in the league is a stretch. that's opinion too.
I'm talking about actual statistics, not opinions. One of them is based in the fact, the other is based in whatever world you're living in.
