I was just discussing this with someone. People assume Winters is on the team because he hasn't been cut, but I think it is more of a wait and see if we can upgrade situation for Joe Douglas. If he does, Winters is cut with no cap hit. I could easily see that happening.

And the playcalling was terrible...He would call the same predictable runs up the middle for 2 yards over and over again..Bell can line up as a Reciver and should..He needs to be used better across the board.

How about this for a playcall...Line Bell up at WR in a 3 WR set and run a draw play with Ty Mongomery...The defense will assume your throwing it with Bell lined up at WR.

Bell had 66 receptions and known as one of the best pass catching RB's so defenses already expect passes to Bell. Not fooling anyone with Montgomery lined up @ RB lol & it's kind of hard to draw up good "draw plays" when you have a makeshift horrid O-Line that isn't able to execute within the trenches.

There is not a single argument to be made for the way Gase handled the Bell/Montgomery situation. Two pass catching backs, the dumbass even SAID he was going to use them together, and he rarely did. Our offense was abysmal and the offensive genius couldn’t figure out how to move the ball when you have two pass catching backs... one of them an all-time great at it? Stop it. Gase was horrendous this year. Just like he was for the three years before that.

Not sure why you don’t get that the offensive line was so bad that he basically had to dumb down the offense. I’m sure he wanted to use Ty and Bell at the same time but if you bring in two RB’s, you’re likely taking away a TE to block. And the line was bad so there were tons of times where there was sometimes the TE staying to block, or they would bring in an extra OL.

moreso, the WR corps was depleted as the year wore on. And Bell is at his best as a WR out of the backfield going against other teams LB’s. If you line him out wide, yes the LB would follow him but simply suggesting the team run a draw with Ty when they couldn’t block a soul just wasn’t feasible. You usually try to add blockers to run the ball, not take away them, and the Jets were a dreadful run blocking team.

So do you think it's just pure dogshit luck that Gase has had bottom 3-5 offenses his entire tenure as a head coach and as an OC outside of one year in Denver?

And you think it's dogshit luck that Bill Belichick is 0/7 without Tom Brady with 5 losing years and 0 SBs?

This remains one of the worst points I've ever seen. Props for keeping it going though.

Because his talent doesn't equal production. Being the most physically gifted doesn't mean squat if it doesn't turn into production consistently and it doesn't with Clowney. He either doesn't study film or dogs it and takes plays off. Because he would take up too much cap space, and we aren't a serious playoff contender yet.

You guys who want Clowney and/or Trent Williams just don't get it. It's not the best way to build the team and it's not Douglas' modus operandi to grossly overpay some player, and thank God for it!!!!!

That's ridiculous! It doesn't matter what they feel about him. The bottom line is that the mostly stonewall him and he doesn't do jack shit. SMH

I honestly wouldn't sign him even if we were a contender. Good teams don't pay bad players big money. He doesn't even show up for half the season. He wants 20 million for 2 good games a year. No thanks. 3 sacks. Resign Jenkins and we can get triple Clowney's production for half the cost. Then draft an olb to pair with him. Or resign jenkins and bring in Floyd from the bears for super cheap, then draft one as well.

Gholston is who I thought you were referring to, but I didn't want him, and Douglas had nothing to do with that.
