No way. Douglas isn't going to be "forced" to do anything. He knows what he's doing. Trading up would be dumb with all the holes we have. If anything, he'd look to trade down.
I heard on the Dan Patrick show that Carolina told Cam that he was free to talk to other teams about a trade, and Cam responded that he didn't ask for, nor was he looking for, a trade.
No way. Unless Belichik is planning on totally changing his offense (and why would he?), Cam doesn't fit the profile of the type of QB that Belichik wants.
https://www.panthers.com/video/cart-talk-greg-van-roten Not sure how well he can block, but he’s got good sense of humor.
Cam would fit in perfectly with beli/mcdaniel’s spread offense. Connect the dots , beli was a big fan of urban Meyers offense , urban had cam in Gainesville before he got in trouble. I bet bill would live to win one with a mobile qb the way urban crushed college ball for a while.
Jets are trying to find value in FA. It sucks that we weren’t able to even bid on Thuney and that they didn’t go after or want Conklin. I want to see JDs full vision.
Where do you come up with that? Beli wants a smart QB, who makes quick decisions and gets the ball out quickly and accurately. Cam is none of those things.
If whoever he is targeting at #11 is gone this would be the draft to trade down. ALOT of talent rounds 2-4......
This is a long-game free agency period for Douglas. He needs to rewrite how the NFLPA and free agents look at the Jets. It's no longer walk all over us. We've given out 4 top 5 positional contracts in 5 years. That might be even higher with Carpenter, Gilchrist and Skrine in the slot. None of those moves have helped this franchise any significant amount. Players and agents walked all over Maccagnan. Just like in Bell's contract where he gave him a midnight deadline and caved to his stupid ass $13 mill per year contract when we were bidding against ourselves.
