We've been giving every GM breaks with our O-Line for years now. We need proven offensive lineman who've made an NFL name for themselves in free agency @ OLine. You can draft no name, undrafted types of journeyman like this during late rounds if not undrafted pick-ups lol but during Free Agency? This is what JD gave us? An undrafted journeyman from 2016? Hah.
Fant is not exactly your typical no name UDFA. He was signed by the Seahawks, an NFL franchise well known for quality line play, and then converted from TE to LT by them. He was slated to start the 2017 season for them at LT after playing half his rookie year there after converting from TE in camp. He tore his ACL and missed the season instead. He played a significant role for the Seahawks as a spot starter and utility end the last two seasons after they were forced to trade for Duane Brown, an established LT, following his 2017 injury. The Seahawks thought enough of him that they coughed up $3.09M to retain him on the RFA tender last year when a replacement level player would have earned about $720K. Not saying this was a slam dunk signing but it's pretty clear the guy has some talent and can play on the OL.
IN. DOUGLAS. WE. TRUST I'm just a fan and not a wannabe GM. I have a belief in Douglas to get the job done. Glad he didn't spend crazy money of day one of FA. On paper, it looks bad because we missed out on some players that could've helped our OL immediately, but for some reason, I'm being patient. Good things come to those who wait.
It’s fucking astounding how every team with a young QB does all they can to help him out. We just watch it all happen.
Now the Seahawks are noted for their Quality O line play? 3rd worst pass protection in the league.... The spot above our own stellar O line .
Its It's almost like the thing to do is actually spend while your QB is on that cheap rookie contract..
Its a crazy concept for this franchise I know. Jets are thinking they better draft the next Dewayne Robertson for Sam to throw to....
I’m gonna be sick. It’s not even about Diggs or missing on the linemen, it’s just the Goddamn Jets can never get with the status quo. GET. DARNOLD. HELP.
Allen is still going to be crap, but maybe someone like Diggs will be able to help him mask it for a while. But hey what a concept, improving the cast around your young QB. Buffalo has been striving to do that
Not when you need a line like we do. But Buffalo has a middle of the pack line which they improved last offseason so they can give up a 1st for Diggs. And with their D...it's getting into win now territory
Not on o line, how many injuries does Darnold have to sustain before o line becomes a priority. Notice the best teams are at the bottom in cap space?
