Douglas will get us the good base with his drafts. Most of us knew that he wasn't going to be able to fix 10 years of bad drafting in one offseason. It's going to take 2-3 years of good drafts and judicious FA signings to rebuilding the team the right way.
Vikings had no choice. The extension helps mitigate the problems that Cousins contract was always going to have in the latter years of the deal. They're going to have to roll him out another time also, kind of like Vinny was with the Jets, to get out of the deepest parts of the trench they dug.
Miami is a perfect example of a failure of a first day. They just signed a corner and made him the highest paid corner in the NFL. For what purpose? They purged their entire roster this season and now have the highest paid corner. How does that help them become a consistent winning franchise? Winning day one is not in my interest anymore. I was a fool for wanting the big names all of the time. I trust Douglas
Solid 26 year old journeyman WR who understands what you have to do to win. Plus being that we take from the Pats. However no way in hell is he worth a contract that gives the Pats a 3rd or 4th round pick in the compensation pool. This is one of the guys that Belichik would love to turn into a comp pick, thus replacing himself on the roster.
I dont think the OL FAs were huge money - especially when you have a young QB that must be protected.....I wouldnt have skimped on OL....has shown to be a problem in the past....
The Jets need to just watch the Browns and do the opposite of everything that they do. I'm not saying they won't get a bump out of another surehanded receiver but paying an average guy like he's Travis Kelce is the definition of how to lose by adding talent.
I don't trust anyone in this organization. So I'll go through the old routine of waiting, than getting excited only to get pissed off. Woe is the life of a JETS fan..
Bell has no value at all right now. If the Jets can get a 3rd round pick for him they should dive at it.
Not necessarily. Let's wait and see the contract details. I'd bet a large chunk of Conklins $20 million first year will be a signing bonus spread over the life of his contract , same for Thuney.
Not hearing much about Robby Anderson tells me a couple things; he's not as valuable as everyone thought he would be, and the Jets are negotiating well with him. I think he'll come back. Glad we're not letting free agents walk all over us and overpaying guys like this dude Vaitai who has a little over a year starting experience spread across 4 years. Cheers to you, Joe D. Now don't overpay Clowney or Fowler, and go get some good mid tier offensive lineman.
I'm glad we're not overpaying but that's some serious glass half-full stuff. As has been repeated ad-nauseum - we have like no offensive line. Not sure how we're going to out a quality online out there at this point? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
Not trying to cause a stir, but what makes you a Cardinals insider? We have no idea what they will do with their pick. I didn't think they were going receiver before that trade even.
Overpaying for one guy would've not been the end of the world. Then drafting another...and you're on your way. But it is unacceptable if the line is pure shit next year as it was this year. The line has to improve. I understand it's not going to jump from bottom 5 to 1st but I expect Darnold to be protected this year
