Everytime this guy gets some meaningful playing time, outside of KOR, he manages to F it up, by virtue of stupid penalties of varying degrees. OK, not EVERY time, but quite often. The look from Mangini today spoke volumes, my money says that he's further in the doghouse than he's ever been. Also, how about Hank Poteat. I don't know about the rest of you guys but he's actually been a pleasant surprise back there. Out of all of the #2 corners rotating thus far, Barret, Miller, Coleman, etc, the one who impresses me most is Poteat. Not the guy for the long term but he seems to be holding his own...
As long as he runs well on kick returns and gets our offense in a good position to score, I simply cannot get mad at him.
I can't get mad at KOR Miller- he's god in my eyes. CB Miller is a freakin' moron. The dumbest guy on the field by far...
that penalty was not that serious.. definetly not worth the overeacton. especially when our Oline had what 3 false starts in 4 plays.
It is a big deal when you look at the cumulative over the course of a season. False start or defensive pass int's are part of the game- it's when you go over the top and start getting these nonsense penalties that I start to have a problem with you. It's not an overreaction, it's asking the guy to play his position without being an ass about it....
Heh. I agree though on his penalties, the extra mouthing off and/or shove to a player is a bit excessive, despite his dynamic skill at KR. He got some in his ear from Mangini, and deservingly so...
ell if you want to be technical.. miller just finished on the play the way players are taught. he just got a bad break and got a penalty. even the annoucer said that. miller is under TO like microscope on this board. any mistake he makes guys make a thread about it.. why arent the same threads made for dyson who has been getting lit up the past three weeks. overall none of our cbs are impressive.
there is no freaking way that Justin Miller scored higher on the intelligence test (whatever it is called) than Vince Young.
I don't get it, you're on of his biggest defenders notwithstanding his propensity for DUMB plays. He's under the microscope because he was a second round pick, and everyone compared him to the best CB's drafted in the first round- where most had projected him to go. As a 1-2 round guy, I expect more consistently GOOD play from him at CB now. Don't give me the spiel about learning curve, blah blah blah. There's guys drafted in his class who are far outplaying him at this point in their careers. I'm on his ass because he carries himself with a swagger that isn't warranted. One day, his errant play is going to result in a call that really hurts this team. Today's penalty wasn't a big deal in the sense that it hurt the team's chances to win, but it served to further highlight his inability to embrace the CB position and play up to the team's expectations. Dyson got burned too, not disputing what you said. This is the Miller thread- if someone starts a Dyson thread I'll surely have comments there too...
Dyson is the absolute last guy to say anything about...He has been an excellent FA pickup and has done a very good job on the left side... He got burnt once today and rebounded wonderfully.
I agree KOZ. Justin Miller's mental limitations scare me much more than his physical ones. When he is on the field, its almost like you are waiting for the flag to be thrown after an incomplete pass.
again this isnt true.. dyson the last few weeks has been just as bad as any cb on the team.Poteat was flat out or best cb over the past few weeks.
i agree i learned to accept it..but 1 - 10 yard penalty is small price to pay for having the ball accross the 35 atleast on every drive.
What did Dyson give up last week? And the week before he got an INT on an island with Driver and did well the whole game... Today a bad blemish and rebounded nicely. Poteat has been the Jets better CB the last few weeks, but Dyson hasn't been bad.
what are you gonna do about it ? bench him and put in who. our cbs are shaky man this isnt something new.
