Keeping their rentals this year was almost like getting a rental. Hopefully they stay on a roll until Shesterkin gets back. Away and home with the Flyers with a wild card on the line. Doesn't get any better than that for this rebuilding team that looks like it's a year ahead of schedule.

Isles fan here ( I come in peace). I have really been impressed with your team and not just this really good run they are on. To have a rebuilding year and be able to compete at the same time is impressive and hard to do. Both of your young goalies have been really solid and Panarin should win league MVP(IMHO) for what he has done for the Rangers. I do think the Rangers will make it. You are only 2 points behind the Blue Jackets and 4 behind my Isles. It would be nice to see both locals in it as it will make the playoffs more interesting. Tonight 3 games of interest with the Rangers/Flyers, Wild/Blue Jackets, Avs/Hurricanes.
Regardless of what happens the rest of the season, I consider it a success. My expectations were pretty low, so, this was a pleasant surprise.
If there's ever a NYI-NYR series especially ECF the city is going to go ballistic. Off the charts intense series
I agree, I'm torn between wanting them to make the playoffs and gaining that experience and worrying that the Bruins will sweep them, it has already been a very positive year...just my opinion
They're rebuilding the right way. I'd rather they made the playoffs but high 80's/low 90's in points is a big accomplishment in the third year of the rebuild. They didn't trash the team to rebuild and were respectable throughout. Next year the young guys have their skates solidly on the ice and Shesterkin is #1 and the playoffs become likely, maybe not as a wild card either.
That was crazy! 5 goals for Zibanejad. Congrats, Rangers fans. Very sloppy game. The Capitals were flat out pathetic, yet somehow forced OT. I'm worried about their playoff chances now. Just are not as good as they have been the past few seasons. The Rangers offense looks better than it has in awhile. Though I can't tell if that is because of the Caps horrendous defense or not!
Yeah, that too. I couldn't tell how much to blame Samsonov though because the Caps D was just as horrendous as his goaltending!
Zibanejad is a great player. He's quiet so that gets muted some but he's always a breakout waiting to happen. The thing that was amazing tonight is the plays his teammates made to get him those shots. The Bushnevich pass from behind the net was a thing of beauty and the Panarin relay in OT was a classic even in 3-on-3.
I don't know about you but if DJ Zbad scores less than 6 goals against the Devils tonight I'm going to be massively disappointed with the guy
When he's on it just looks so easy. He did get some amazing setups last night though. I guess the Caps had the bad luck to be playing a very hot team that had just hit the wall in the form of hotter teams in the previous 3 games. Caps weren't hot and got burned.
