Yeah, I loved the simplicity of the story. Many films these days feel overstuffed with stories and plot points. It is nice to see a film just be straightforward. It is similar to Dunkirk, in several ways, I agree. I loved Dunkirk so no surprise I love 1917 too!
I'm gonna pass on the new Harley Quinn movie. Another Girl Power effort tailor made for women from the trailers.
I'll be honest, I am going to see it. I accept all judgments on that too, because they are warranted.
Saw "The Gentlemen" today. It was just OK. Nothing special and certainly not on the level of Boondock Saints. or "The Town". I'm thinking Hollywood need to let Brits do the acting in England. Matthew McConaughey played an American Ex-Pat and inspite of his best efforts, it was hard for him not to sound like he was from Texas. Story line was a multiheaded monster that you had a hard time following. By the time the movie got rolling, you should have picked up on the basics. It was at the end that they all tied everything together which was fortunate for the audience. In the end, it was entertaining. I was able to really understand the varying accents that were in the movie after about an hour. Matinee material at best. Download or Firestick it if and when it becomes available.
Hey now... No reason why John Cena can't milk the cash cow too. I see they wrote out The Rock and Jason Statham this time too.
Birds of Prey update: It bombed and it was pretty bad. It could have been worse, but it still was mostly a waste of time. I liked the characters though. Margot Robbie is great as Harley, Black Canary and Huntress were cool too. The rest, not so good. If you love Batman, you will know they truly wasted the villains in Black Mask and Victor Zsaz.
Anyone else pumped for No Time To Die? Love the new theme song. Should fit in nice with the opening credits.
Looks like its gonna be good. Daniel Craig I see has come to his senses and decided not to give up the Bond roles.
Haha true. 0% chance. You don't play Bruce Wayne and James Bond simultaneously. This will be Daniel Craig's last Bond though, which is too bad, because he is a great Bond. Casino Royale and Skyfall are amazing. Not sure who the next Bond will be, but they will have big shoes to fill. Luckily Craig has found a new great character to play as Benoit Blanc in the Knives Out series.
No Time To Die, A Quiet Place Part II, Mulan, Fast 9 and many other films all delayed due to coronavirus. I need to get new hobbies. Sports and film take up a lot of my time!
