Still a surprising move. Not sure what the problem is in Toronto, but I don't think it was all Babcock. We will see how they play without him going forward.
I have always said that it’s hard to win with finesse built teams. None of those guys are grind it out, physical in your face players. Even the old Red Wings were a gritty skilled team. It’s why the Capitals are where they are, balance of grit, and skilled players.
True. And it's why the Caps did not win with those early Ovechkin teams. I've said before that the current Leafs reminded me of the Pre-Trotz Caps.
Hockey Canada disagrees. World Junior gold, 2 Olympic golds, World Championship gold, World Cup gold. Throw in a Stanley Cup as well. That all being said, he has had difficulty getting talented teams over the top recently. 13
Olympics and World Cup teams, I agree with you. But Canada has always iced less than our best teams at World Juniors and World Championships. Coaching is important at those times. And comparing him to Barry Switzer is ludicrous, Red. 13
Tampa and Toronto are very similar. Kucherov has been an absolute ghost this year. When is the last time someone saw kucherov bang in a goal in the crease? Doesn’t happen
Fair enough, he’s not Switzer. Babcock has talent but the fact remains that he has done less with more as the HC of the Leafs. Where does he end up next? I believe he has one last stint left before he is out of the NHL as a HC.
Agreed 100% Maybe Tampa. Good fit? Cooper must be feeling the heat down there after the quick playoff exit, and early season struggles this year. 13

Caps with back to back road wins against the Sharks and Kings. Pretty impressive. The West Coast games are kind of fun, because you do your daily routine, then have a game to watch at night. Although I am sure it is tough for many people to stay up til 1 in the morning. Haha.

CRAZY ending in DC today! Sharks had a 3-2 lead, hit the empty netter with 1:00 left to make it 4-2. Caps pull Holtby again, Vrana scores to make it 4-3. Caps pull Holtby again, Oshie scores to make it 4-4 with 14 seconds left. Head to OT, Holtby makes 2 amazing saves, makes a great pass down the ice to Carlson, who passes to Eller for the game winning goal. Caps win 5-4! Unbelievable. It is the first time in franchise history the Capitals won a game after trailing by multiple goals with under one minute left.

Just 2nd game back and Justin Williams has a 2 goal night. Damn Metro is tough but looking forward to a strong finish which Canes usually do. They will be a tough out in playoffs.
