Looking good up 4-1 and we had PPG in the 2nd period. A rare event in Islander land. Still 20 minutes to go and that 5-3 PP in the 1st period... WOOF that was ugly. Hopefully we can close it out and get a win against quality opponent.

Love the interview with Bryan, and Butch joining in. Takes me back to the best sports experiences of my life. And really loved the shot of the fan in the #91 jersey with masking tape over the name and "GORING" written on it.

Caps were looking good, then they did that stupid off sides challenge, and they have been a mess since.

And just like that they start off the third period flat and give up a goal. Sigh.

Absolutely pathetic - this has probably been their worst period of the season.

Oh my God - I don't think I've seen a worse period EVER.

This is the kind of game that gets coaches fired. Of course I'm not saying that there is the slightest chance of that happening, but the complete lack of effort reflects very badly on the coaching staff (and the players, of course).

4th and 5th goals... lazy play and two giveaways in the defensive zone

Disgraceful. I honestly think they will miss the playoffs.

The team is garbage; not much Trotz can do with it.

I’d complain more about the glaringly obvious officiating that doesn’t go our way but what the hell would another few power plays do for us at this point? We are terrible on the ones we get.

Despite the seemingly good stats the team as been sloppy on defense the entire season, and it’s catching up now. I’m ok if this isn’t the Cup season we’d hoped for, but it’s time for Lou to recognize it and start reshaping the roster to one that might be.

Not if you’ve been watching the Isles since the Ducks game it isn’t.

well I have seen more than enough to know that a MOVE must be made before the deadline in fact it is LONG overdue. IF they do not intend on improving this mess then be sellers at the deadline and unload some of these guys and Bring up Bellows and Wally as this team is just not very good and I am afraid that Trotz message might be falling on deaf ears as lately they don't even play well defensively

Yeah, I haven't. They looked so good in the 2nd period though and a Trotz team up 3 in the 3rd is usually beyond lights out for sure. I know never to give up on the Caps, but that seemed like a tough deficit to overcome. Have the Islanders blown other games recently then? I just knew they had 60 points coming in, which is pretty solid.

Towes mocking Kuznetsov was a mistake. The Caps literally feed on stuff like that. Can't say that is why the Isles lost, but no need to give the Caps motivation down 3.

The point total is deceiving. We had 34 pts in our first 22 games because of the 16 game point streak. But since the Ducks game where that streak ended we only have 26 pts in 25 games.

Lou is not doing his job. What has he done do far anyway? First, he failed to keep Tavares. Then, he failed to keep Lehner and failed to bring Panarin. He has absolutely no achievements as far as I can tell...

Meanwhile, Ilya Kovalchuk, who was recently picked up by Montreal off waivers, scores in every game... Even at this stage of his career he's a better scorer than 90% of the Islanders' roster...
