12z euro and gfs in agreement right now. I think it needs to come down a bit further south to get really good(or bad depending on your attitude towards snow) totals. Still lots of time but very encouraged right now
FJAY and others = timing, we need this thing to come together at the right time or as Fjay said not only will NYC have issues / rain but you will have to go well North of Fjay to find frozen----> still lots of time lets see how this plays out
12z gfs comes back a little south. If this held would be a 3-6/4-8 for most of us with some mixing issues on the backside. We can do better
we also could do a lot worse....... middle / end of next week looks BETTER but now back to our possible weekend event
Models keeping this to the north. Looks like Albany is the snow magnet this winter. The rest of us will get 1-3 that will probably wash away Saturday night into Sunday. Disappointing.
Fjay this one is still up in the air and nothing is written in stone yet so lets see if todays guidance is any help ? I always felt we might get a few inches ( especially North of 84 ) before it got washed away by the rain. The models have not been helpful ( shock huh ) as they have shifted North one run then South the next run then back North again. Not only have the models shifted each run but the moisture/ water associated with this storm has diminished every few runs as the models are now showing nowhere near what they were showing a few days ago. I am still hoping the the moisture gets in quickly and that we all get a few inches (except for the coast as the Southerly winds should make this quickly change to rain but what do I know ) this looks like another nuisance snow IF THAT and not what I was hoping for. The long range models have sucked but there are a few good indications ( on or around the 24th give or take a day ) that next week might make snow lovers happy but it is a week away. <-------I say this because the weather pattern "APPEARS" to be changing as I type this and that towards the end of next week this "should " be a different story.
Fjay you and I both just hate only 1 month of winter especially if it is March and I hope this is not the case this year,,,,,,,that said I do have a one foot out on this ledge and if I shoo these pigeons over there is plenty of room. Lets see what happens Saturday but my expectations were never big for this one but IF IF IF the middle to end of next week does not pan out then I will leave plenty of room out here for you and a few other friends---the good news is when we do leap off this ledge hopefully Brook is walking by and we can squash him and his snow hating Woody Johnson lovin ass like a grape
That does look better. Doesn’t up the amounts but it keeps the change over away. Get 1-3/2-4 and it stays on the ground wouldn’t be bad.
