Tannehill finished 2019 as the highest rated QB in the league. Great trade by Tenessee. I wanted the Jets to bring him in to backup Darnold/insurance policy but he still had too much value to Miami and he woud've been too dangerous for Darnold. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...e-highest-rated-starting-quarterback-of-2019/
Oh but think of what we could get back in trade if he played lights out while Darnold was sick. I agree though. I have to much hope for Darnold to have Tannehill play take any time away from him... also Tannehill is behind a good o line with a great back taking pressure off him. He would probably have been hurt here.
Pretty damning of the Dolphins organization post Gase for dumping him because they didn't want to pay him. Gase would have never done that. Now that we know Tannehill is the best QB in football and he's an FA would you sign him for 4 years for 120M? TN could have locked him up long term after the trade. They lamely gave him a 1 year deal. It's probably going to cost them 10 million of extra cap space for several years.
Once Tanny loses to N.E tonight I guess GASE will then have an excuse by being forced to coach a QB in Miami who couldn't WIN THE BIG GAME lol
Please stop acting as if Tanny is having a good year because "Gase isn't there" when... A.) A younger Tanny had multiple good seasons under Gase and even made the playoffs. B.) Tennessee is one of only 4 teams who've had 4 consecutive seasons of above .500 winning football. C.) He was birthed into a GREAT SITUATION (unlike Miami who's struggled and stunk since after Marino era(s). Stop acting as if Gase SUCKS because he's started off his young coaching career with two historically speaking sucky/losing franchises in Miami and our Jets. If only Gase would've been birthed into Pittsburgh or even Dallas but that's not reality - Dolphins/Jets is reality. Omg Gase sucks because Tanny went to a team who before 2019 had 3 consecutive seasons of above .500 football without him; laughable.
Miami was on the up when Gase got there. The team was playoff worthy his first year talent wise and they went to the playoffs that year. Then Gase tore it down and started rebuilding in his way and they became worse. Partly due to some injuries but mainly because he was building his way. That is on Gase. They got worse because of him. That doesn't mean it will happen here but it did happen.
