Georgia also has a bunch of guys resting...but anyway I think Rhule has proven that he’s a damn good program builder in college football. I just don’t know how much that translates to pure coaching of grown men in the NFL when most teams are relatively balanced in talent

He may very well become a great NFL coach one day but the hype on this guy has me saying hold up for a second. Even last year I wasn’t very interested in him (or Gase to be fair)

Bill Callahan will not be joining Rivera on his staff, curious to see where he may land as a OL coach

Proven wrong? What was proven wrong or even proven right? Where are you coming from with this? What exactly is it that you want to debate? Do you want to debate the act of having different points of view?

What "baseless claims" are you talking about?

What's a cop out, simply not agreeing with you?

What "unfounded arguments" are you talking about?

I don't care about Jay Ajayi; I don't care about Landry. Neither one has offered anything even slightly compelling.

You and I do not agree on the value of Adam Gase as head coach of the New York Jets. Who cares? If Gase ever should become a coach with a winning record for the New York Jets, I may change my viewpoint as I have always tried to keep an open mind. As of now he has simply made his losing record even worse. Nothing he has done since he got here gives me any reason to change my mind.

This is "real evidence." People get sent to prison everyday on a lot less evidence. My account might be third hand but there is no dispute here that the twitter account is connected to a Jets PR department email. Multiple people have verified the connection. Without further evidence rebutting the connection or showing hacking or changed emails we can only reasonably presume someone on the Jets used this account to not only prop up Gase but attempted to smear and hurt the career of a reporter.

Whether this goes further is likely up to the DN. Will they sue, will they break their own story, will they contact the Jets and try to resolve it privately. I imagine the Jets and DN are both doing their own internal investigations and the Jets are likely doing their best to keep this quiet. The last thing they want is publicity and the NFL involved and investigating this.

Not sure how legit that is, but I like the fact the Jets are supposedly trying to add to the offensive staff.

I think Gase needs someone that will challenge him. I'd love for the Jets to add Callahan as well.

I don’t see them going after Callahan and replacing pollack. I think he gets a pass due to the carnage. I do like the idea of adding a former qb to the mix, another set of eyes that’s played the position and can help with mechanics.

    Bring back Uncle Josh :)

On a real note, I would love to throw a blank check at Chad and have him help teach Sam whatever he can. Chad and Gase also have a relationship IIRC? Or was that during Philbin's tenure? Anyways, I've always wanted Chad to get a gig as a QB coach or offensive assistant with us. Guy knows so much

Well that seems like an utter disaster. Two voices from two different offenses fighting for Sam's ear.

If you want to look at bringing in new offensive coaches then you should realistically just fire Gase and not create another forced marriage.

Yeah as much as I hate Gase's coaching this would just make it worse. You can't run 2 style of offense. Good way to get Darnold confused. You either believe in Gase or you don't.

I’m operating under the assumption that gase has full control of his staff and this is his move.

the Jets have to be the only team, college or professional, to be interested in "Clay Helton disciples"..

I wouldn't say he has full control, but this still could be his move. Still doesn't make much sense. Unless this is for a lesser roll like o line coordinator, which to us at this point is a greater roll.

I think he is looking for a mechanics coach. I don’t thing Harrell would have much say in the game plan or the play calling. Simply a guy to work with Sam on the footwork, arm angles and such. Personally, I think it’s a good idea, not sure if Harrell is the right guy but I like the premise.

You know who's the best edge rusher in the league since BB traded him? You know which team has the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a QB BB traded off his team. You know who didn't trade Ryan Tannehill from the Dolphins, Adam Gase didn't trade him.

You know who doesn't have control over the Jets roster, Adam Gase.

I can't see Harrell taking a step back from USC after signing an extension two weeks ago to be a QB coach and having nothing to do with the offense in terms of game planning and what not though.

He might be closer in line to be USC's next head coach if he stays. USC was mulling over firing Helton earlier in the season.

I think it'd take at least the offensive coordinator title to get him to make the move.

All depends on what his ultimate goal is. If it’s the nfl he’ll make the move, if it’s to be a college coach he’ll stay. I couldn’t care less of it’s him, I like the idea of gase bringing in another set of eyes though.
