Being stuck with this coach for 2 more years makes it impossible for me to be optimistic. Another complete shitshow by the offense today ... against a team playing for nothing. And how bad of a coach do you have to be, to mismanage the end of the half like he did?? 3 timeouts from the opponents 42 yard line with about 1:40 left, and somehow this genius found a way to run out of time. Absolutely horrific time management. And even on the first drive of the game, he doesn't have enough sense or stones to go for it on 4th and 2. No ... let's try the FG in the pouring rain with a kicker who sucks. We'll never go anywhere with Adam Gase calling the shots. We'll be locked into 7-9 purgatory as long as he's here. Since this ownership will never fire him prior to 2022, the best thing that could happen to us is for him to get implicated in a sexual harassment suit during the offseason.
Okay, I'll ask it here: What purpose was served y calling a T.O. on the on sides kick that was called back because the whistle didn't blow? Serious question.
Gase being the head coach is very 'sad and solemn' moment , but unfortunately we can't impeach the SOB.
The only positive to take into the 2020 season is that Jets overcame all obstacles from all the injuries sustained - they could have easily had at least 2 more wins, my guess. But our coach still would have made this team mediocre.... and the Johnson's don't have the foresight to see this...
And if there's ANYBODY left out there who doesn't understand how bad Gase's offense sucks ... We played 16 games, and the genius managed to put up more than 16 points on offense in five of them. FIVE
Like Cman said earlier, its all Fools Gold. We dont know more about Sam now as we did at the end of year 1. The offense actually took a step back with facing an easier schedule. The end record may seem nice based off the horrible start but I cant confidently say I have even an ounce of faith that this time team could be a playoff team next year. It still feels like we are far off with so many holes still.
Finally, someone who gets it. Adam Gase was given absolute garbage to work with, and he made it respectable. There’s no reason to not let him develop the Jets under his vision for at least another two years, maybe three. Turnarounds don’t happen overnight.
Funny thing is, for those of you hoping and praying for Gase to get fired, there IS hope. Ask Mike McCagnan. Gase could get canned in June. It's the Johnson brother's management method. Anything can happen at any time. Usually the wrong time.
I obviously don’t follow every move of the jets, was there a reason the ownership gave when they came out and backed Gase so strongly weeks ago? Seems a little odd to do that at that time.
Why? If he endorses a washed up back like Bell, some people would criticize him for that. He can’t win in this scenario.
