I don't get how you can disagree on Smith. It clicked with Harbaugh and Roman but he was also entering his eighth year. That's not the situation we're discussing with Darnold entering his third year. Goff is a good example for sure. But we see him go up and down with Gurley's effectiveness. That whole team has regressed as he is no longer a MVP candidate.

One of the bright sides of this seasons is all the young guys that got unexpected playing time. Hopefully a couple of contributors shake out from this
Tackling is definitely an emphasis in the off-season for him. He's a good tackler coming forward but horrible with his back facing the play. He's still at least always around his man.
there’s not enough depth on the roster to have 3rd stringers across each lineup. There’s still starters and key backups out there.
Oh now you want to turn it back into football because you got called out on your bullshit? I think with a quarterback that is clearly aiming the ball and struggling with grip it's understandable to not want to take shots. I also don't really know for sure if there are or aren't shots being called because we only see half the screen until the balls thrown and he's under duress half the time anyway, which leads to less chances to hurl the ball down field.
