I can only imagine how bad we would be getting blown out if Buffalo is playing all it’s starters. This game shouldn’t be close right now.
Wild cat was bad for sure. I'll never support that regardless of coach. Down field? Are you watching the same quarterback pushing the ball in the rain on 6 yard passes the same way he is 15 yard passes? This isn't a throw the ball down field kind of game. Do you see the pouring rain?
It was the complete opposite for Alex Smith. He was terrible his first three years under the Nolan regime. Then they changed to the Singletary regime, and he was slightly less terrible. Finally, they switched to Harbaugh, and the moment Harbaugh took over, he turned into a good QB, no adjustment period necessary. The 49ers willingness to change regimes is what saved his career. On the other hand, you can make that case for Mariota. But then I can counter you with Jared Goff, and we can keep going back and forth without convincing evidence that regime change hurts QBs.
At least the defense is well coached and playing with a pulse. Williams has done a very good job despite the devastating injuries.
I'm sorry but if anything Alex Smith proves you wrong. Harbaugh made him better, into one of the top QBs in the league that year. Then in KC he played extremely well again. In Washington he was screwed but he also had injuries along the way. But he got better with coaching changes until Washington.
Heck, I wouldn't have blamed Sam at all if he just hauled back and threw it up for grabs 60 yards downfield after that B.S.
