I Don't totally disagree, but I still think Darnold can become even great, whereas I don't think Allen ever will be.
Thanks for clarifying the sarcasm. I agree that the biggest difference between Sam and Josh is their respective CS. Gase may well ruin Darnold.
Correct. Allen is too much a loose cannon. Not mentally or anything but when the ball comes out of his hand it could be a beautiful Marino to Duper 60 yard yard strike out of 1985 or it could be in the mezzanine. And he will age pretty damn quickly if he still runs and exposes himself to abuse like he does
In the next couple years, the Bills won't get gift-wrapped schedules, and the defense will get worse when players start aging and leaving. If Allen can carry the team to winning records at that point (similar to Russell Wilson), then he'll erase the doubters. The other possibility is when he's asked to carry the team, he falters. It's still quite reasonable to predict the latter.
The Jets playbook doesn't include throws downfield of more than 10 yards. They're forbidden in Gaseland.
It's a NFL game. Bills have a good team. It's on the road. Jets aren't good enough to roll over a playoff team's backups.
Allen has the arm and the legs, his biggest problem is his accuracy. If he fixes that, I could see him doing prime Cam Newton things with better health. I don't expect that to happen, but I also don't expect Darnold to become elite.
