Better in the w column, Sam his improving , wrs were better, defense was better, special teams were better minus the kicker issues. Everything improved but the o line which wasn’t addressed and crumbled to the point we will be playing our 10th different o lineman today. Side note, there is no way to say “I want” without sounding like a crying 2 year old. It’s absolutely impossible.
What a shocker. Enthusiastic Millennial thinks like Millennial and spouts all over social media. Cynical Old farts react like Old Farts. Those of us in the middle kind of shrug our shoulders.
Kid just made his 2nd and back to back pro bowl and about to become an 1st-Team All-Pro and fans are talking bad about him because he's a vocal leader and was pissed about being on trade block because he actually WANTS TO BE HERE? Trash.
Why bother even watching then if you can't want the team to improve without coming across as a juvenile? Is it more mature to simply accept mediocrity, at best?
History is the root cause of cynicism. According to this one needs to only be 44 to be a "Cynical Old fart:" https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/jul/10/in-praise-of-cynicism.
You can make any excuse in the book of why the Jets don’t have a passionate fanbase but it doesn’t change that it’s not a passionate fanbase. Loyal fanbase, not passionate though.
Well, as I'm 51 I wouldn't take it as gospel. Oh and it's the Guardian - the go-to read of the left wing, liberal millennial in the UK.
How many O-Lineman for NYJ made the pro bowl? Oh, yea, right. Exactly. You left out the part where he's getting selected as a 1st team all pro though...
Hmm, attacking the distributor of the thoughts rather than the thoughts. Sounds kind of...well, cynical.
ROFL. That's your opinion and you're in the minority. The Jets' fanbase is just as passionate as any other fanbase.
I have been know to display the odd cynical old fart trait from time to time. I'm well on the way, just not fully there yet.
I'm not an old fart. I'm just intelligent enough to understand what respect is. I'm also smart enough not to confuse hip-hop with music.
That side note was referring to just about any situation in life. “ I want” always come across whiny and immature. “ I would like to see” “ it would be nice if.....” comes across better.
I want the Jets to be competitive. I would like to see the Jets with a real head coach. It would be nice if the Johnsons weren't our owners...... all seems the same to me.
That may be your viewpoint; it's certainly not universal. "Want" is a very acceptable emotion for all. It is a stronger emotion than "would like to see" and much more direct than "it would be nice. which both sound wishy washy to me. It would be nice, and I would like to see the Johnsons provide free hot dogs and beer at every game, but I want the Jets to win every game.
I don’t think I’m in the minority even a little bit. No one who follows the NFL would put the Jets fan base in the same category as the real passionate fanbases like KC or Seattle, GB, No and countless others.
the fanbases you cite have seen their teams win 11 division titles in just the last 5 years. The Jets have won 2 since the NFL was created 50 years ago its kinda easy to be "passionate" when your team wins. I'm old enough to remember when everyone laughed at the Saints and Seahawks "passionate" fanbases anyway
