I will keep an eye on next week but then again this time of year I watch every other day. That said the system is not even near the west coast yet so lets see what happens once it get closer as I dont want Brook or anyone else thinking we are out of the woods with Christmas travel when we still have over a week to go. lets see what the next few days bring if anything
Anyone else get an emergency alert on their phone at 4:03 stating a snow squall warning until 5:30 PM, warning for sudden whiteouts and icy roads, and recommending slowing down? Nothing going on here that I can see.
Apparently they only started issuing them in 2018, and I don't recall ever getting one before. I saw a video of it moving in on Manhattan, and it did look very cool. We only got a normal dusting from snow showers at around 8:00.
OhmyGodOhmyGodOhmyGod, it was so cold out early this morning when I got up to walk Henry the dog! Henry had his Winter coat on and he was still shivering, but that didn't deter him from stopping and smelling every goddamn thing to ever hit the pavement. There I was in my PJs, sweatshirt, Muck boots, and my loser Jets scarf on the frozen tundra, cursing up a storm: "HURRYUPGODDAMNITHENRY!" "Sniff sniff, a piquant mix of vanilla and cherry, a full mouth, a touch of oak and pear, heavy tannins, drink now." "Motherfukkerifyoudon'ttakeashitrightnow . . . !" I was going to take a hike in my ice cleats later today, but guess what I said? I don't know, jeto, what did you say? I said fck it! Will post photo of loser Jets scarf as proof of a.m. Arctic Expedition later.
Out here in Central PA, it was whiteout conditions. Thought I was in the Yukon. Massive accidents on I-80.
Heads up to anyone traveling down South for the Holidays. The pretty big storm that the weather models were showing that MIGHT effect us up North around the 22nd / 23rd is NOT going to effect us but it could effect travel plans BIG TIME from Virginia down to Florida. Its not going to have cold air to work with so its all rain but it looks like a monsoon as it could be anywhere from 4 to 10 inches of rain with some ridiculous winds. Again this is NOT for us up here in the north East this is just a heads up to anyone traveling or living down South--> As far as our weather Christmas appears warm and not white.
Our shot at a white Christmas died in the ice storm Tuesday. Right now it’s a very boring 10 days according to the models.
So here it is, my Jets loser scarf. Looooosssssser scaaaarrrrf (pretends to hang self, makes my best death face, rocks back and forth like I'm swinging from the ceiling beam)!
Hey WeatherNutz, looking good for Sunday/Monday offshore? I see winds out of the West and the Marine says 2ft or less seas.
Cman yes looks like you will be dealing with light winds and warm temps 45 possibly 50 degrees go have fun might I suggest you do this rather than watching the Jets
