What it would have taken the Isles to get him from a division rival wouldn’t have been worth the risk to see any of our prospects develop on the Devil’s into viable stars to haunt us. Just was never going to happen and I’m not upset about it at all.

If this was true then the Devils were never going to trade him to us. Can't fault Lou here if that was the asking and for a rental.

The fact they wanted Wahlstrom speaks highly of his potential. He contributed to the islanders 15 point streak without scoring a goal himself. His size, instincts to go to the net and ability to win battles in the corner and come out with the puck is not something that can be taught.

Only guy I would give Wahlstrom away in a trade for is Patrik Laine.

When you play 82, nights like this happen. Bad night nothing else to say.

My wife will be very happy about #27 - JT was always her favorite, and is the number on her Isles jersey. I told my daughter at the game last Saturday that the Isles should/would retire #91 for Butchie just to stick it to Tavares once again.

Bruins are completely dominating play, but Isles have a 2-1 lead thanks to Varlamov.

Isles win in the shootout. Keeps being too hard - as always, no finishers.

Huge win tonight and a nice bounce back from the other night. Nothing against Greiss but Varly is playing better right now. I hope Trotz breaks up the rotation and goes back to Varly on Saturday.

Good win for the good guys and I will take it but as STAT said "no finishers " I watched the post game and Both Milburry and Roenick said the Islanders were the faster team and I think they both actually said that the Islanders dominated after the 1st period but I could be mistaken about the wording as I am not sure what THEY watched but IMO Boston is not only bigger but THEY were faster and if not for Varmy we lose this game. Yes the glove save was sick and again IMO our defense played VERY WELL and I will gladly take the 2 points.

If we can’t come back this might be the most disappointing loss of the season, giving up 5 goals after 8 our last home game, losing a second time to a bad Ducks team, and in a game we had multiple leads but constantly gave them back.
