I have watched the Jets for over 50 years and I don't recall us being this bad ever. In the 70s we ran off 3 straight 3 and 11 seasons but we never seemed this bad. Even in the 1 and 15 Kotite season we were competitive and led at the half 10 times. Even during bad seasons i always give the Jets a chance of playing a close game. But tonight i cannot imagine a scenario where we don't get blown out which hopefully means we play well. Despite playing the easiest schedule i can ever recall us playing i cannot recall a more disappointing season than this one.
This is so dramatic it's unbelievable. We already have the same or more wins than we had in four other seasons this friggain decade. I really wish I knew what everyone expected out of this season. And after Darnold and Siemien went down until week 6 among all of the other injuries, where should we be? We've lost to some bad teams. We ARE a bad team. I don't know where this high horse mentality is like we're not in the same shitty talent class pool as the Bengals, Dolphins, Redskins, etc. If you want to look as the decade as a whole and be wholly disappointed, then you're welcome to. But this team has done pretty well for itself all things considered. Especially if you want to look at the record in comparisons in a vacuum.
Why? We tried it last week against a far inferior defense and it didn't work. The entire world thinks run on 4th and 1. He ran jet motion one way and bootlegged the other way. We can't seal the edge so it gets blown to shit and we still should've scored with a better receiver back there or maybe a generous PI call. I don't ever mind putting the ball in Darnold's hands with this shitty roster and line.
I don't think it was bad play call and I don't have an issue with it, but it's not what I would have called. I would've lined up in a jumbo package with a full back and pounded it for a yard. I'm of the mindset of if you can't gain a yard you shouldn't win the game, plus it helps that LeVeon rarely gets hit behind the LOS. Overall, the offensive gameplan in the first half has been solid. Curious to see what adjustments are made
We literally haven't won the LOS once on offense this year lol. In football theory I agree with you. But it just doesn't work with this team unfortunately. We need to try a shot play. And I think we've been trying they just keep getting blown up. We need to get as much action flowing away from Robby's side and throw him a bomb.
I really need to ask anyone defending Gase. What has he shown you that warrants him another year that's going to only further damage Sam, the most important player on this team....
I'd like to ask you, what is within the coaches control that he's doing so incorrectly? Everyone got their wish with Le'Veon Bell getting fed the ball a ton and running bootlegs and rollouts with Sam. The results are the same because the receivers don't make plays and the offensive line can't hold their blocks.
Oh look, another 4th & 1 BOOTLEG where the line just can't seal the edge. I wonder if people even watch these games sometimes.
Gase. There’s a weird sub sector of fans that are still sticking up for this piece of trash and can’t accept that he’s been horrible his whole career at the OC level and above other than when he had a HOFer and an elite WR in his prime.
