Below freezing temperatures too. I planned on being at this game, but now I won't be. I just don't feel it would be a great experience for me!
Since we have no hope and we are the Jets we will probably keep it close till about midway through the 3rd quarter. The announcers will say, "Gee the Jets are really putting up a good fight". Than we will get blown out. We usually only get blown out in games we go into with hope. Or in the last game of an already crappy season.
There's really only been one wire to wire blowout this year on Thursday night and that was the Chiefs over the Broncos who scored 30 unanswered. The Patriots/Giants game appears that way but it was close into the late third. I really don't think this is going to be some epic destruction kind of game. 38-24 seems appropriate. Teams don't usually have the pure energy or health to absolutely annihilate teams on Thursday night like the Ravens would on Sunday. I'm curious to see how we defend the QB read option with the runningback. We don't need to commit a lot of players to stop the dive since our interior defensive lineman get penetration relatively easy. I don't see a linebacker on this roster capable of keeping up with Lamar Jackson but the key to stopping him is getting hats to the ball which we do pretty well at.
If you ever played against the option in high school (which if you played high school ball you likely did), or if you ever watch the teams that play Army, Navy or Air Force, you'll find that the teams that are successful are those that stop the dive. Every coach I ever played for emphasized the same thing. It's assignment football all the way through but if you stop the dive you can figure out the rest a LOT easier. If Ingram gets going with positive gains we're toast because they run their play action and QB runs off of it. If we stop it we'll be in OK shape.
So you want to see the Jets get demolished in fine, minute, detail. Pain from a distance is not enough?
After all these years, I finally get to see the Jets get smashed in minute detail.. How could I possibly pass on that?? Seriously, the new Jet helmets are REALLY shiny in 4K...
Where are you copying and pasting from? Intellectual property is a thing. Not that you're smart or anything. I kid; but you should give credit whether it's crap or insightful. On a serious but mildly related side-note, for any fellow artists on here, don't be a fool and post anything on the internet without a copyright and leave a solid trail of ownership. I copyright everything. Even soft copyrights can save you, and guard your ideas like you'd guard your life. Don't even talk out loud around the wrong people for what it's worth because it could be worth a lot and hopefully not after you're dead. Alas, I've already put myself in the posthumous column, haha.
We're gonna get fuckin killed. We're shooting for objectives like: cross midfield in the first half, get points in the first half, force a punt, etc.
There ain't no LB that can stay with Lamar. Adams can but he's on a bum ankle potentially. Just stick to assignment and don't go out the norm. Burgess is pretty fast, he maybe assigned to contain Lamar. Good luck!
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. I couldn't tell you how many times my brother has told me that if the Jets can stop the dive then the Jets can play a respectable game. The thing with the option is you HAVE to stick to your assignments, if one person doesn't stay with their responsibility then its game over. The one play that's stuck in my mind was a touchdown run Jackson had on the goal line vs. SF a couple weeks ago. The OLB came in and bit on the running back, which let Jackson pull the ball out and walk into the endzone.
