So, are we just going to ignore the fact that Bell was out the night before the game bowling and drinking when he was supposed to be sooo Sick that he could not practice or even attend the game? Very suspect situation to me. I believe there is discontent and disconnect going on here. Red flags are flying people, Adam Gase has been terrible at communicating and addressing problems with his players... and that is a problem! Even 22 Y/o Sam had to take the initiative and storm into Gase's office and tell him his playbook was not working out. Gase should have done this awhile ago. Ive heard countless stories about Gase being completely nonchalant and just leaving sleeping dogs to lie when problems with players arise. Im not advocating for Gase to be a disciplinarian. But as a leader of men Gase needs to step up
I hope he's ruled out Thursday, it's our bowling league championship... Seriously, every report that mentioned alcohol clearly states that Bell was not seen drinking but members of his group were seen drinking. So the he was out drinking is bullshit. This news broke late today so how it will be handled by Gase remains to be seen. He was sent home because he was contagious, not to sick to perform. It's a bad optic but no need to make more of it than what it is......
Jets go bowling Pats go cheating this is why we will never win man, the Pats are some kinda dirty ass cheaters to film the lowly Bengals
But what is it? Maybe nothing; maybe a big problem. Writing it off so quickly is just as bad as making a big deal about it so quickly.
Not writing it off, just saying that every report states he was not drinking yet the OP clearly states he was drinking and Gase has completely ignored it, when Gase has not had the chance to address it yet. Wait to see how it's handled before making it more than it is.
Every report I saw that mentioned alcohol at all said that while there was alcohol on the group's table it was "unclear" whether or not Bell was drinking. None said he was or was not. I do have a problem with his decision making however; virtually every article mentioned he was wearing orange leather pants. Maybe he wants to be traded to Cleveland or Cincinnati.
Oh my God, I wish there were more people like you. They should hire you in the media, someone who will refrain from attacking a person's character before all the facts are in.
Is it not better to side with caution before ruining someone's character? The media is full of sleazeballs, so what is wrong with doubting them? Before passing any judgment, let's get all the facts. Otherwise, we need to assume Bell did nothing wrong besides possibly passing his illness to his friends.
Did he use his own bowling ball? Does he play with two bowling balls like me? You should never share a bowling ball.
Your view has been prevalent for many years, but I can tell you times have changed. My employer has actually sent people home for being sick who were willing to work. It is not because they are so caring. They did not want sick people to infect others and limit productivity. The Patriots who had the flu bug sent players home and also made them fly a different airplane before playing the Texans. It obviously didn't help enough.
I have no problem with the Jets sending Bell home so he doesn't infect his teammates. I have a problem with him going bowling when he should be resting.
Just really bad optics here. Its the worst season of Bell's career. The guy had the flu I guess and Gase sent him home. He felt good enough to go bowling with his crew and had the good sense not to fall asleep behind the wheel on I-80. Either way, the odds of Bell being traded for picks just went up. I doubt if any private chats with Gase fixes this.
Just a terrible decision if it was indeed true. If you’re that sick where you can’t play for the team paying you millions, you should keep your ass inside and rest up and get well for the next game. Just a terrible and selfish decision for a guy who was trying to turn his image around.
Lmao it's bowling, Bell ain't running a marathon. Non story. Maybe he was feeling better on Saturday.
