Isn't this suppose to be one of the deepest WR classes in a long time? Might be able to get a bluechip lineman in the first then get a really good WR in the 2nd no?
Actually, Darnold stormed into Gase's office and burst into song with this old Buddy Holly tune: I'm gonna tell you how it's gonna be; You're gonna call these plays for me.
Leatherwood is not a Tackle at the nfl level. Not a center. Hes will be a guard and not worth a top 10 pick either.
At worst he's a RT at they are very valued ala Lane Johnson. He's powerful and athetlic. He's a first rounder
His feet arent that great in deep pass sets out on the edge. His skillset is better suited at guard..Hes very athletic but more from a short area/phone both perspective. I wouldnt be opposed to trying him at RT but not over names like Becton or Jake Curhan. I think hes someone that fits what Douglas will be looking for in a guard. In a trade down scenario id consider him from pick 25 onward. Not sure i like him more than Creed Humphrey however.Come to think of it theyd be great as a center/guard or guard duo.Thats a tandem that would keep the windshield clean & get a push in the running game. Sign Branden Scherff in FA & your brand new interior is Leatherwood-Humphrey-Scherff. I think thatd be a foundation we’d all be very happy with.
Definitely agreed. He could be extremely solid at guard. With Scherff it fixes the problem at guard. I think the problem with Leatherwood is his feet can't move like a left tackle he doesn't generate the push in run game like a rt. He is also projected as a guard for a reason. He might be able to be a right tackle but i think guard is his best spot. And as you have said. I would take Humphey over him at 25.
Phone Booth: An offensive lineman with below-average feet that performs best in short areas. Usually guards, left guards in particular.
We still have some here. It amazes me... I've been all over the country, but southern Indiana still has these things. Some are completely stripped no phone etc. But some are fully functional
Ring..Ring..Bring Gase Answers: "Calling Adam Gase..its Jony Jet Fan ..please step out of your usual Loser Role average of 6-10 Seasons in NFL and bring us a Winner!" AG Response: "Sorry ..ya gotta wait while I got my Thinking Cap on ...I even lock the door to my office now" ....(Hangs up)
Interesting, I've heard he's very good in space, so putting him at guard might be a waste of his full time potential. He's really athletic, having a RT is very important in today's league as well. I wouldn't mind trading down or getting more picks. Love Scherff as well. Gotta get some nasty guys in the trenches. How about Wirfs? Hopefully these guys don't go back to school. Notably still catching up on prospects, but Kurt always looking forward to your feedback!
