I see typos, poor grammar, incorrect and/or no punctuation, and misspelled words galore in books, magazines, newspapers, and even the NY Times and Washington Post. It's not too surprising to see a mistake in a rag like the NY Post, however. That said, there is nothing wrong with "complementary." It is used in reference to the offense, where the focus is on the passing attack, and the rushing attack is just a second though or complementary part of the offense.
Of all the posts for you to suddenly decide to re-engage with me. I only mentioned it as my spell checker flagged it up and wanted to change it to complimentary, if only I had spent an extra 30 seconds of my life to triple check that both were correct, Instead of looking for some cheap filler.

Both are correct? It could be "complimentary" if the running backs were constantly heard saying nice things about each other. Barring that Cannizzaro got it right.
I'd take a three at this point for Bell and draft his replacement/sign a complimentary back in tree agency. I like Zack Moss of Utah a lot. He might be my favorite value runner in the draft. AJ Dillon will likely find some success because he's an always fall forward kind of runningback. His speed into the hole is a question but he could be a Derrick Henry type.

Gurley was good. But he was injured and didn't come back the same player. Such is the way with running backs. That said none of what was the big 3 last year have put up those numbers.. Look at Zeke and Barkley, they just aren't producing. Barkley is behind a bad o line just like Bell. Zeke has shown good games and bad games behind a stout o line, but they have been stacking the box more and making Dak throw.
If the jets should trade anyone this off season, it should be DL Q. Williams. He has value, merely one year removed from being labeled the best player in the 2019 draft. As long as the jets primarily play a 3-4 defense, it is insane to have a great talent like Williams merely occupy blockers, so LBs make the plays. Williams could be Fletcher Cox in a 4-3 defense-- trade him to some team that runs a 4-3 (or have the jets convert to a 4-3) and use the picks to update the jets swiss cheese OL. Mike MacIdiot never understood that interior DL in a 3-4 defense have a vastly different role than those in a 4-3, but not surprised since he didn't understand many things.
It's frustrating and the majority of the defense is built around a 3-4 although there are mismatched pieces. Avery Williamson was a 4-3 linebacker although he adjusted well to the 3-4 when he came here. He and Mosely will make an awesome ILB combination. I hope Williamson stays. He's a good player. Jenkins is a quality 3-4 strong side outside linebacker. McLendon is a 3-4 nose. And then we have, as you alluded to, a player who could be dynamic in a Tampa 2 style 4-3 and we selected him with the third overall pick to essentially do the same thing that Nathan Shepherd (third round pick) and Fatukasi (sixth round pick) already do. It's really really sad that edge wasn't the selection or else this defense would really be a solid corner away from being damn good.

So where are we trading Bell? I'm thinking NFC team like San Francisco or the Eagles (obvious Douglas connection here). The Jets will probably have to eat 4-5 million a year on the deal. Once they free up that money, I expect they extend Jamal.
