Kingsbury would've been a disaster for all sorts of reasons, but I don't believe he would've been allowed to draft another QB to replace Darnold.
That's a good way of looking at it, money shouldn't be the most important thing in deciding a team. But knowing that these players aren't the sharpest tools in the box, all they could see is the $$$ no matter what But yes, you're right.
No, not from Helsinki, actually some way north, about 370 miles from Helsinki city called Oulu. Yes, saunas are great, that's why almost every home has one By traditions you mean drinking some beers before, few more during and couple more after? Because that's the way we do it.
I honestly don't have strong feelings one way or the other. I don't know enough about what happened in Miami. Gase did say that he realized that he made some mistakes and has learned. So I'm somewhat cautiously optimistic. At least I think he knows the types of players that will fit his system, and the types of players he wants on the team. He may have a better eye for talent than Mac overall. He may keep some players from signing here, but I'm actually more worried about players not wanting to play for the Jets regardless of who the HC is.
It's a good question, but hard to say. I think if you are an offensive player you are coming to New York to play with Sam Darnold. If you are a defensive player, you are coming to New York to play with Jamal Adams. Adam Gase and Gregg Williams probably do factor into a player's choice, but I would guess the roster is a little more important. Of course, money is #1. That will always sway a player's choice over the Head Coach.
How in the hell did you know Karpat?? Googled it? Yes, maybe not that big of fan, I don't attend games that often, maybe a few times in the regular season. But in the playoffs more so.. They are the best team in the country, currently walking the regular season.
lol, I'll dabble a little in Nordic hockey from time to time. I like the new Champions League, but it's no Nordic Cup Still don't understand what a Karpat is though. Is that like a snow wolverine in Finland? For those not up on Finnish hockey, this is the Oulun Karpat logo, an animal I believe native to Finland, but I'll let the FinnishJet clarify. Side note, was Jokerit switching to the KHL a big deal in Finland, or did no one really give a shit?
Yes, that animal is indeed a stoat in its snow fur.. in summer time it's brown. I named my fantasy team name after it, Oulu Wild Stoats. It was a big deal that they left actually. Jokerit is the biggest organization in here, and at the same time most hated one. Other teams were obviously pissed of for losses in attendance because the arenas were practically sold out when Jokerit came to visit. Being located in Helsinki, the biggest market area in the country, it affected the whole league as well. Jokerit had to pay the league a quite considerable fine, I don't remember the exact amount, but it was a few millions, which is a lot considering that average annual budget for a team is probably about 6-7 millions.
I'll say this much, most of TGG knew this was coming. Which is the saddest part of all. Bowles turned out to be a bad coach, but at least there was reason to hope when we hired him. Here, we knew from the beginning what was going to happen.
