I think the guy running it stopped once the team went on the 3 game winning streak, he said he didn't want to do it while they were winning. It'll come back this week.
Honestly, I bought a Fire Adam Gase t-shirt and I love it. We're going to keep him next year so it is what it is, I just enjoy the meme at this point.
The johnson's seek mediocrity because they sit on their ass waiting years and years to admit that what's going on isn't working, and when they finally do admit that they need to change things, they hire a head coach who has a losing record, and who's previous HC tenure was marred with controversy. We are abominable and I hate to say it, but we do deserve all the bad press we get
and over the last 20 years, how much money has the Johnsons made off the Jet franchise...? Do you really think winning matters more than revenue??
It doesn't and that's why I don't buy jets merch anymore and I don't attend games. I refuse to give my money to these morons because I'm tired of seeing this shitty product. We are about to go a decade with no playoffs
.. in a league where you see teams turn it around in 1 - 2 years on the regular. Absolute embarrassment.
Ty Montgomery: ".... and we are still trying to get this thing together. And you know. if it doesn't happen this year, then maybe next year. If it doesn't happen next year, then maybe the year after that..." And so and so on for 50 damn years now....
Actually the revenues are well secondary to the appreciation of the franchise value. NFL teams average about 100 million dollars a year now in operating income from which interest and taxes must be deducted. On the other hand, the franchise value has increased more than fivefold since Johnson's purchase in 2000. To put that in perspective the return for the Dow (with dividends reinvested) in same period is just over half that. The S&P would have doubled as would Berkshire Hathaway stock; Apple up 1.4 times; gold is up about 3 1/2 times. It's clear that these guys should turn into profit takers now and cash out rather than deal with the piddling eighty million or so they clear every year. Get Bezos on the line!
So I'm not a baseball fan, I never watch it; but from what I'm gathering on Twitter is that the Mets had a shitty owner just like the Jets and they have finally sold the team? Is this correct? How can their fans be so lucky godammit.
